Only cos the ref gave us nothing!!
Fair result though, and Napoli thoroughly deserved a draw. Defended very well, and we just never got going – worried about Fabinho as well. If he’s out for a while, we’ll miss him alot

27th November 2019 at 11:27 pm #54634Ha!
The crowd were very poor tonight, especially for a European night that mattered. Are we taking the team for granted?

27th November 2019 at 11:32 pm #54635It was very quiet in the first half but noise picked up in the second. Sometimes it’s up to the team to generate the atmosphere with the tempo of their play. Liverpool were very pedestrian in that first half – too slow with sideways and back passing.

27th November 2019 at 11:51 pm #54637Second that gj it would be a hell of a comeback for the lad after what he’s been through.

28th November 2019 at 1:56 am #54638A fan of Willian especially more recently this season however he was awful tonight. Accept a draw with thanks to Valencia. Another part of the learning process completed. Christensen and Zouma not the ideal mix especially with Christensen only just back from a layoff. The result means now just a win at home against Lille required. Should achieve that meaning the other tie Ajax and Valencia will be a cracker.

28th November 2019 at 2:44 am #54640AnonymousI’ll tell you something for nothing also. We may be top with 10 points here but our last game is against Salzburg away, who have 7. We could genuinely go out of the competition here, if we’re not really careful. It would be a shame too, since teams with 10 points are usually all good.

28th November 2019 at 4:27 am #54643has Moos been blocked for too many insensitive political and other type comments? Noted the ‘block’ against his name.

28th November 2019 at 5:54 am #54644C1967 not deliberately no! It’s a bit too easy unfortunately to block people by mistake. Handy when the need arises but does lead to the odd mistake. Now unblocked
Gjblues, echo those sentiments!

28th November 2019 at 5:56 am #54645If Napoli draw or win against Genk (at home so you’ll fancy them) then RB Salzburg will go through with almost any victory scoreline. The only ones that would prevent that are 4-3, 5-4, 6-5 and so forth.
Basically, Liverpool have to get a positive result in Austria to go through and that is no easy task. They are a good team. We’ve been in these situations before and prevailed but sooner or later things will go against us and we’ll end up playing Thursday nights.

28th November 2019 at 6:23 am #54648AnonymousWe don’t tend to take the CL group games seriously enough, generally. Is it because we are considered to be a pretty decent CL side in general? We expect to go through, especially when we’re given an “easy” group but to me , it seems that we often struggle to qualify and end up needing a result on the last day. It’s fine if this is at Anfield but it definitely is just not good enough otherwise.
We could be heading out of the CL. Our top spot is a worthless, false sense of security.
Now we’ve lost Fabinho for a potentially very long time, Van Dijk might also be injured… we’ll see there. City have taken these kinds of injuries and mostly kept going. They have the squad to respond to these instances, we don’t.
We’re definitely in a better position than we might be historically but our bench is not full of world class players. To also be heading into such a busy period, whilst losing key players…

28th November 2019 at 7:45 am #54651With two teams through already when the dust finally settles I think we’ll probably see all 4 PL Clubs making the last 16 stage. Let’s hope so anyway. What happens from there though is open to conjecture and the draw.

28th November 2019 at 7:47 am #54652Goals against different opponents in the CL. Messi – 34* TOP. Ronaldo – 33. Raul – 33. Messi leads the way but is neck and neck with Ronaldo.

28th November 2019 at 8:46 am #54656im glad i dont often bother to post during matches, some of the comments form the usual suspect and against Pagan of all people!!
i agree with 999 i can see all 4 progressing through and then its all open.did VVD stay on in the end? he would clearly be the biggest loss injury wise if he actually is, same as laporte for city, could make things interesting but i suspect he will be fine?

28th November 2019 at 8:51 am #54659Dunno what you’re talking about Buffy, I was having a great chat during the Valencia game, not arguments or anything, all as fine and dandy as a Summer Fete in the Cotswolds… 🙂

28th November 2019 at 8:56 am #54661Steveo – yeah, VVD stayed on, and seemed to play with little or no discomfort. Fabinho will be the big miss as we don’t really have an adequate like for like replacement.
As for the ‘usual suspect’, just ignore his tirades. He obviously has issues, and every now and then ‘Forum Tourettes’ takes over. He’s a decent lad at heart, I suspect.

28th November 2019 at 9:02 am #54662i think you have enough cover in MF HH, not ideal to ever lose a player to injury but of the two youd pick him every time! shame for the lad though…VVD i sawe the incident and i susepcted it would be painful but wear off rather than be a major issue but eneded up going to bed!
if he is OK then pool will be ok, id have been very worried for you of he had picked upa knock tho…but then maybe Gomes would sterp in and rediscover that form he had before his big injury!
