With all due respect lads, I was naming Adrian as our potential weak-point before the game. so not everyone was blindly praising him until just now. even during his good times with us, we knew his weaknesses. they were coming more to the front recent;y.. it makes sense, bigger games.
did I say nothing worth responding to there though? fucking hell like.

12th March 2020 at 2:11 am #84392We’re running out of steam lads, thank goodness we are so far ahead in the EPL. Hopefully we can see that up in the near future. Good luck to Athletico, very hard team to beat & I hope they win it. Just remember lads, it’s only a game of football, a lot more important things to worry about in life.
Take care all._____________________________

12th March 2020 at 4:35 am #84450AnonymousLiverpool full backs and centre half except van dyck are also weak links defensively, it’s not about overlapping on the attack all the time, they have other responsibilities.

12th March 2020 at 5:00 am #84464AnonymousOz, i don’t think we’re out of steam as such but we’ve had no drive since the winter break. i think they’ve been coasting a bit in training perhaps. giving 80% perhaps. If we needed th epoints, we’d get them. The knock on effect to that s, we needed those PL matches to stay sharp for the CL and one has fallen because of the other.
it’s no good having the drive on the night, you’ve got to have that conditioning, that sharpness. We lacked it.
we should sign werner and let the 4 lads fight for 3 places. They are just too damn comfortable. they know they wont get dropped.
sign the competition, or just sell some of them and refresh the team. something has to change because we’ll try and coast into next season if not… and it wont work then.

12th March 2020 at 7:40 am #84529Robertson is one of the best defenders in the world. Absolutely nothing wrong with his defending. It’s the way we set up at times which is the problem. Sometimes the two centre backs are left all alone
We lost. We missed to many chances. Mikius at times we could with a bit more guile in there but not finishing chances is not a creativity problem.
I’ve no complaints about last night. Not even that disappointed as this run was going to end. We have reached the last two finals winning it once. 5 years ago I would have laughed you out of town if people had days we would get to 3 European finals
Perspective is needed at times in my view chums
Mak you are clearly disappointed chum but chin up mate.

12th March 2020 at 8:00 am #84538Utter nonsense for anyone to try and blame the Referee for Liverpool losing last night.
Unfortunately Liverpool played the best defensive team in Europe no other team could have withstood what Liverpool threw at them and they certainly didn’t look like a team that had run out of steam to me couple that with the injury to Alisson and that’s why Liverpool lost had Alisson played I suspect Liverpool would have been in next week’s draw for the Qtr Finals and may well have gone the whole way again.

12th March 2020 at 8:18 am #84540No team will ever be perfect Liverpool’s best offensive weapon is attacking through their full backs they are the best pair of attacking full backs in world football that’s one of Liverpool’s greatest strengths but they are not as strong defensively as they are offensively particularly TAA.
I think Liverpool could improve their squad by signing a creative midfield player but at the level Liverpool are at who is there?
Werner would be a massive signing for anyone but Firmino is very instrumental in how Liverpool play and knits everything together for them and sometimes take out a crucial cog upsets the whole balance of the team.
I’m sure Klopp will be looking at areas where he thinks the team/squad can be improved and that there will be signings in the Summer.

12th March 2020 at 8:37 am #84547Am I the only one that actually thinks we were brilliant for 90 minutes last night but as a result of all that effort against a top class defensive team we ran out of steam? They played with 10 behind the ball in a very disciplined shape and yet we moved them all over the place creating numerous good chances. It was probably the best midfield performance of Liverpool this season, Ox in particular looking good. Any talk of Liverpool needing a creative midfielder based on last night is silly, and if you say Liverpool cannot defend I ask you to take a look at the league goals conceded column.
With the intensity we played at we needed the second goal in the 90 minutes, and without Oblak having a storming game or maybe slightly better composure we would of got it. In extra time it was clear we would be shattered but after we scored I still felt we could hold on but conceding so soon and in such a poor way deflated the team and crowd. We needed a huge effort to come back from that and the players just didn’t have that to give.

12th March 2020 at 8:38 am #84548Disappointing night, but an excellent performance undone by a moment of madness by Adrian. Agree with you, Mak, I thought Gini was sensational last night, with Hendo and Ox not far behind him. I do disagree with you about Mo though…I thought he was excellent last night (until his finishing), and was by a distance our most dangerous attacker. He had one great run in the 2nd half tricking his way past 2 or 3 defenders only to not even test Oblak. Robbo’s header should have been buried, and we all know now what a good keeper Oblak.
We were gutted walking out of the ground last night, but we have to remember we have won the league, and we all know how important that is to us and you all would have taken that back in August. It’s going to be a strange end of season now, in more ways than one obviously, but just think how many other clubs would gladly swap places with us right now. Probably all of them, bar City (as they want the CL and have won the Prem recently). Look at the joke Spurs have become since losing in Madrid last summer. Sacked their manager, hired a malevolent has-been, rumours of dressing room fall-outs etc etc. That could have been us after Kiev, but no…since then we have won the CL and the Premiership.
Anyway, reckon they’ll cancel the CL before the next round anyway cos of the virus!!

12th March 2020 at 8:57 am #84559Anonymousref was brilliant, havent seen a better one this season, has a good eye for real fouls and for the diving. I would like Liverpool to win the league as they owe it to their supporters world wide, Have quite a few as friends myself.

12th March 2020 at 10:12 am #84601I agree with 3ps,Liverpool were brilliant last night during the entire game, and they created so many chances.Salah was,for me,very good again, just that his finishing wasnt as expected. And that was Liverpools problem last night, taking their chances all night long.Oblak is by far the best goalie in todays footballing world.

12th March 2020 at 10:23 am #84608There not a team anywhere that can’t be improved SAF used to be the master at doing that when United ere at their best.
I’m sure Klopp will look to improve Liverpool still further in the transfer market this Summer arguably a creative midfielder which I know many Liverpool fans would like to see and a striker like Werner might do that but obviously it’s easily said than done and it will depend entirely on where Klopp thinks Liverpool can best strengthen and who is available.

12th March 2020 at 10:38 am #84619Oblak is definitely a world class keeper – but i don’t get why people are saying he had an amazing game.
Can anyone tell me of a world class save he had to make? All his saves were comfortable.

12th March 2020 at 10:45 am #84624World class goalies make world class saves look comfortable due to their superb reading of the game and positioning. And he did it many times last night, so yeah he had a great game.
