Definitely offside by Werner but he does look a real handful.

11th March 2020 at 8:08 am #83905I don’t think Jose has helped Spurs with all his negativity about the injuries and the squad and calling out individual players he seems to be repeating some of the same mistakes he made at United.
It’s a tactic of his to distance himself from the problems and to put pressure on the hierarchy of the Club to try and ensure he gets significant transfer funds in the Summer.

11th March 2020 at 8:50 am #83908Nine, the thing is I don’t think there’s anyone within football that couldn’t of predicted that Jose would behave the way he has. Maybe the only surprise is that he has reverted to that behavior so soon. It really begs the question why Spurs employed him in the first place.
He should stick to punditry, heard he was pretty good and appeared happier. Or maybe try international football. But as a club manager he was finished even before utd made their mistake with him.

11th March 2020 at 9:56 am #83915Even a blind person can see that this current Spuds team requires major surgery, and when you see oldies like Lloris,Vertonghen,Alder, and the utterly useless Lamela, etc still playing, you see the need for major investment.Just the thing is,Jose shouldnt be the one in charge doing the rebuild. That man in charge of RBL should,Jose is a wasted man,his time has gone.

11th March 2020 at 10:52 am #83919Mav, can’t argue with any of that, he again set the team up totally wrong as he never learns.
Spurs need 5/6 quality players mostly in defence + a goalkeeper, which ain’t going to happen under Levy, outs should be Aurier,Foyth, Sanchez,Vertonghen, Lamela, Dier,Rose and possibly Davies .
This car crash has been coming for 2/3 seasons but has never been addressed and if the rumours are correct no CL means a lesser budget for Moaner so forget the Summer window.
Talking to my old Spurs mates they all say the same, we were 2 maybe 3 players away from being a top, top side, but unlike Liverpool we didn’t invest when the time was right and now we have an unbalanced, unmotivated side with a has been manager, Jose out._____________________________

11th March 2020 at 10:52 am #83920I don’t think Jose should be saying some of what he has in public but I also don’t think Jose is responsible for where Spurs are now.
A major rebuild would be unaffordable at Spurs no matter who is in charge. Spurs will be a better team with their injured players back but they probably do need some significant investment and that is unlikely to happen under Levy and with the Stadium still to finance.

11th March 2020 at 11:32 am #83939Anonymouspark lane – what team would you have picked? thought the set up was right and the XI was the best he could conjure up. we started the game well and on the front foot only for lloris to gift them a goal and then as we know too well, their fragile little heads dropped and it was game over. then aurier and lloris gifted them another and at that point i went to make dinner.

11th March 2020 at 11:57 am #83952Paxton , I wouldn’t have gone 5 at the back as we were chasing the game, since we sold Walker and lost Rose in their prime we haven’t had the players capable of playing as wing backs. I would have had an extra man in MF . Unless we intend to sell him for a big loss Ndombele has to play, as much as Jose dislikes him, he is capable of turning a game, also Gedson in for Lamela.
I’m just pissed that every time we get to being a couple of players away from being serious challengers Levy shuts the bank, look what VVD and Allison did to Liverpool .
Like you I got the hump & stopped watching at 2-0 , to be honest this season can’t finish quick enough._____________________________

11th March 2020 at 5:09 pm #84100AnonymousDelighted for Atalanta. I have an Ex from Bergamo, I’ve been there, it’s a lovely place. They havent really had a really good team in all the years I’ve known of them, so I’m pleased but also, they score loads of goals too, so in general football terms it’s just cool.
I’m starting to anticipate the match tonight though. I’m thinking it’s a straight 50-50, maybe a slight advantage to Atletico because of the away goals rule. The crowd is going to be absolutely on fire and I expect to see the great Liverpool side that hounds the opposition, or moves the ball around at a high tempo. Hopefully we’ve got Robbo and Trent starting. We’ll need them on top form to have a chance, as Atletico will sit back and look to hit us on the break. If we bomb in from the sides, we’ll be able to nullify their bus.
I’m just so worried about getting hit on the break. That clown Costa hasn’t been on great form this season, with Morata preferred by most fans. This could be a game where he really ignites though (if he’s started.. maybe they will play with 2 up front.). On top of this worry, our defence and cover for it is just not to standard lately. I really hope this will be back to our previous high standard though and if so, we’ve got a great chance then.
