Well this thread tool an unexpected turn! Clear that Rover has strong political views but I don’t see that value of discussing it in a football forum.
What I don’t understand is that some football fans accept or even encourage the behavior of the city owners. Football is a competitive sport and they are trying by whatever foul means possible to remove the competitive element from it. City fans are obviously revelling in the (tainted) success but they need a reality check, this is your sport that your owners are determined to ruin!
Going on from what Ed said once about City being AD’s choice because they are a reasonable size but desperate to step out of a bigger neighbours shadow, I agree with him it wouldn’t be tolerated by most Liverpool or Utd fans. We all like to win but some of us care about how and by what means, and Utd and LFC have already tasted massive success without resorting to cheating, we wouldnt accept it.
City could have easily have been Everton, I think there was interest. Wonder how Spurs fans would have felt, with Arsenal obviously casting a big successful shadow over them?

9th October 2024 at 10:06 am #215943The irony being that Chelsea have most to lose with the shareholder loan rule.
But it was a massive victory for the sovereign wealth fund knowing that the mighty Brighton have to pay full interest on owner loans. They must be able to sleep a little better a night not having to worry about the likes of Brighton taking their spot at the top.
Hold on, aren’t City pro owner investment? Upsetting the established elite.
It’s almost as if the anti tyranny tyrant has stamped his feet and acted tyrannically because he wasn’t allowed to cheat.

10th October 2024 at 5:01 pm #215944The real truth: Noel Gallagher calls for Richard Masters to QUIT the Premier League immediately: Oasis star slams CEO as ‘mouthpiece for the red cartel’. Man City fans signs petition amid civil war between champions and league.

10th October 2024 at 6:10 pm #215945I’m sure the PL and Masters are quaking in their boots at the thought of Football and Political expert Noel Gallagher getting involved. Or they could just put it down to a famous loud mouth fan using his former glory to rant and stomp his feet that no one will care about.

11th October 2024 at 5:36 am #215948CM you copying exactly what I said about the real corrupt entities, is that the best you can do. We know the real truth who the dictators at football level are why do you think they twist the rules to benefit the clubs that stand behind them. They been doing it for years and it’s about time righteous people ave the courage and stand up and exposed them and that’s what you guys refuse to believe. I got better things to do than argue with anyone on here so carry on trying to re assure and convince yourselves, good luck.

So far United, AC Milan, Real Madrid, Barcelona(cannot register players) and Chelsea have been punished for breaching these rule when you go by top clubs.
Which club is desperately trying to escape punishment and bend the rules? They are like FIFA under Blatter.

Off the top of my head, if all City’s Titles were Stripped, I think Liverpool would just shade it over United on Titles or they’d be level on 22.

23rd October 2024 at 5:51 pm #216075United will be on 23 titles Nil, Liverpool on 22.
2012, 2018, 2021 for United
2014, 2019, 2022 for Liverpool.
This is irrelevant though, City will get away with it. 1 organisation is never going to beat a state ownership.

2nd November 2024 at 7:32 am #216300Late to join this debate but thereβs no way that city will be found guilty – they have to much money and now have too much power legally
They have undermined the premier leagues legal teams twice already and have tied them in knots.
They will not conclude this and will wait for a convenient moment to announce the deal of a slap on the wrist and a large fine for the 115 charges but without city admitting liabilityItβs all a joke, and frankly all of the city title wins can be disregarded – whoever finishes second are the real champions

2nd November 2024 at 1:10 pm #216307Yes, I am starting to take that stance too. They will bully the PL into dropping the case. They will make it so expensive that the PL wonβt be able to proceed as clubs will get too nervous with the rising costs and ask to drop the case.

11th December 2024 at 5:40 am #216748It’s either 129 or 130, heard both mentioned. Although 115 still has that aura about it, like this will be known as the 115 era in the Premier League.
Case has now been heard so now its down to the three judges to make their decision. Legal people usually give themselves a generous Christmas holiday so despite many ‘leaks’ from ‘ITKs’ there won’t be anything to get excited about until towards the end of Q1 next year.
Whatever the outcome one side will surely be upset and contest it, putting the final result in limbo for another year or so.
If they are found guilty, and for this next bit i am assuming they will be, then it will be interesting what fate awaits them. Punishment wise City won’t be expelled, the PL would need 15 teams to vote for that and at the moment I think only a few have pushed for it. But a big enough points deduction could mean inevitable relegation and this is more likely IMO. Stripping titles opens a big can of worms for the PL, but I can see teams initiating their own legal proceedings against them.
Personally I think the main issue is that ADUG have proved to be not fit and proper owners and so should be forced to sell ala Abramovich. Turn City back into a team that competes fairly and most likely at their original mid team level.
