I’ve said on here more than once. The refs need to be miked up ala Rugby and Cricket. That will help clean the game up.I’d also go one step further and give a straight red for simulation if the VAR say he dived. That’d soon sort out the serial divers.

9th May 2024 at 9:09 pm #214558Bollocks on social media Paul? Far from it. Have a read of this. It’s bizarre how it’s allowed to happen. Should be a massive conflict of interest

10th May 2024 at 2:10 pm #214560I’ve said for a long time that this is an absolute disgrace. Not many people seem to care though, maybe because they feel City are either so corrupt it’s just another thing wrong, or because it’s not Utd doing it.
Shouldn’t be allowed and crazy that it is.

10th May 2024 at 8:17 pm #214562Sweddy Eddy-No way City will be cleared completely! It’s a complete mess and its all about what to do with their trophies, like they did it with Juventus in Italy.

11th May 2024 at 6:09 am #214564Is an actual punishment sanction then on the cards? Even at some point?
If it is, then I’m wondering at the back of the minds of supporters do they not feel a slight bit of emptiness and the achievements false than with authenticity?

11th May 2024 at 11:20 am #214566Haha everyone thats not a city supporter wants City to be punished, this is normal whenever a team or a club becomes hugely successful. It doesn’t deter from the facts that they still probably the best to ever the grace the English leagues, none of the players did anything wrong except play beautiful football. The people responsible for City being charged are white collar and behind the desks not on the field, envy is a terrible thing but it’s a human trait so its understandable, I felt the same when United or Arsenal or Liverpool were winning titles every year. Will City lose theirs- no chance, will they get relegated to a lower league-no chance, will they have points deducted, possibly, will they get huge fines-probably. Sorry to disappoint everyone.

11th May 2024 at 11:33 am #214567Would City been just as successful if they didn’t cook the books?
If City fans think their sponsorship deals from the UAE are genuine and at a fair market value, then they are deluded.

11th May 2024 at 12:36 pm #214568How do you know they cooked the books, why would they admantaly deny it only to be doubly embarrassed and doubly fined if they are indeed found guilty. To answer your question yes they would have been as successful, anyway the charges are not directly related to players finances. In any event their B team which probably costs far less would have still won most of those trophies.

11th May 2024 at 1:27 pm #214570If City had not been taken over they would had remained the mid table no marks they once were.
The thing is City didn’t need to cook the books, they could have played fair and still made it to the top albeit takjng longer. They had the wealthiest owners but to them that doesn’t seem to be enough, they wanted to win right now no matter how.
We will never know what City could have achieved playing by the rules. Even if as expected they get away with it again to most fans their success will always come with an asterisk next to it. They win the Treble, the double or whatever and no one really cares or gives them any credit. Bluemoon will probably says he doesn’t care about what others think but you can tell Pep does, he hates that his achievements at City are viewed as insignificant.

How do you know they cooked the books
Because that is what the charges are based on.
They needed to cook the books to avoid financial fair play punishment and to get the players in to achieve their success.
But that has been unfair on sides who went by the rules. Arsenal, Liverpool and so on have missed out on success because of it. Remember Pep spent a significant amount of money in 2016 and 2017 to achieve this success.
There is a reason why City did what they did. It was to win trophies by buying players and stacking up their squad. If they were that confident of winning trophies anyway, they would not have 115 charges against them for cooking the books, but they clearly weren’t confident.

11th May 2024 at 3:23 pm #214587Well if it was my team, I’d actually withdraw my support until they were punished if rules have been breached. Not really a fair competition against the other 37 teams.

11th May 2024 at 3:50 pm #214588City will definitely be punished,no case of there being guilty or not, they just taking longer to decide what to do with their titles and if they will be relegated,as no league wants them.

11th May 2024 at 5:06 pm #214589It is as obvious as the skidmarks on Buffy’s knickers the 115 are guilty, they’ve provided nothing by the way of evidence of their innocence, they’ve delayed and Arsenal-ed about from day 1 and have spent millions of an army of lawyers to try and find a technicality to get them off…
I do feel sorry for their fans… nobody takes that club or it’s acheivements seriously.

11th May 2024 at 8:20 pm #214595We very happy and proud of the team. Nothing will take away their achievements and the fact they greatest club team to grace the game. Ask all their fans and massive world wide support. Jealousy is a terrible disease. See you next season or maybe during the Euros.

11th May 2024 at 9:32 pm #214597I can name 5 better sides than this City side and none of them had accusations thrown against them or been charged for financial doping.
I was more jealous of Liverpool winning the league in 2020 than anything City have accomplished. Like Chucky has said, nobody takes City seriously. It feels artificial and forced, rather than admirable.

11th May 2024 at 9:56 pm #214598I wouldn’t even say this current 115 side is has been the best edition of the 115… and most certainly not the best “ever”… and there is absolutlely nothing admirable about what the club has become…

11th May 2024 at 10:33 pm #214599Descended from the roots of Maine Road. And you feel “Proud” I don’t care too much personally about your Wealth.
I’m seeing in my thinking of Conspire, a Hold to Preserve your Status; how many decisions over time in your Favour?
Can you catch up to Manchester United and Liverpool in League Titles and will that Satisfy you?
Personally, I think Pep has so much Respect for Jurgen, he’ll miss him and leave. I don’t believe there’s as such any remote connection with Mikel Arteta other than Cameras.
Jealousy, lol oh man. The Referee and VAR allows a Rodri Handball. “Fair Game”.

15th May 2024 at 11:57 am #214651There is one reason and one reason only why this case is not settled yet. When the PL launched the procedure for the 115 charges, City made sure that it got stuck in the courts for almost 3 years challenging every technical aspect it could to delay it.

15th May 2024 at 9:33 pm #214660The 1st 5 years of the 90s, you had 4 different teams win the league –
Arsenal, Leeds, Manchester United and BlackburnThe 1st 5 years of the 00s, you had 3 teams win the league-
Manchester United, Arsenal, ChelseaThe 1st 5 years of 2010s, you had 3 teams win the league-
Manchester United, Chelsea and CitySo far the 1st 4 years of 2020s, only 1 side has won the league
When City were taken over, I and many warned that the league will become a monopoly. What is so competitive with this league? If City didnt get taken over or cheat by financially doping, we would have had 3 sides win the league title.
