Disagree nine. That idiot Danny Murphy openly stated that opposition players should deliberately foul our players. You can only assume to injure them and take them out of the game. Pogba also openly said he wanted City players to be injured. Since then we have received no protection whatsoever from referees, who have condoned some horrendous assaults on our creative players. No apologies from refs or the chief ref. Riley. They clearly are happy with what they are doing. Make of that what you will. There is a definite pattern and it stinks.

29th January 2018 at 10:20 am #14044Have to say I think everybody is looking at these “incidents” with rose tinted glasses. I’ve seen a fair few tackles dished out to the Spud lads that were a bit “naughty” (as well as dishing them out too, it must be said), but I don’t agree for one second there’s any sort of “agenda” against the City kids or anybody else for that matter.
In the heat of the moment, or even the height of passion, rash challenges are made, especially by a losing side, so simply logic would say the more successful teams are falling “victim” more often, but such is football…

29th January 2018 at 10:53 am #14047As to the biased reporting…they see it “as they see it” would be there response but they should be seeing it “as it is” with impartiality

29th January 2018 at 11:06 am #14048Chucky there are just too many really poor challenges all of which should have been straight red cards. None have been given.

29th January 2018 at 11:42 am #14053Sorry to hear the news Re Sane.
I suspect behind the scenes, this is down to a certain Neil Warnock. I’d be gutted if one of my key players was out for a lengthy spell – just when we are emerging too into an important part of the season.

29th January 2018 at 1:23 pm #14058Jim, with respect mate I don’t believe Danny Murphy or any one else in the media would encourage any player to break a City players leg which was the original suggestion.

29th January 2018 at 1:28 pm #14059I heard what he said nine. He encouraged opposition players to foul our, so as to take them out of the game. Barton did the same this morning. Pogba wanted our players injured. It’s pathetic. The refs are now playing along with their narrative. Not a word from any of the referees involved. Not demotion by the FA or premier League.

29th January 2018 at 1:34 pm #14062I noticed the change in Zero Tolerance of mis-timed tackles and very bad challenges actually from watching Argentina’s opener against Cameroon in 1990. I don’t think there was an intent of malice, but it was the approach going from one extreme to another.
I think Cameroon were left with 9 men, but I thought at the time given out straight reds set a new precedent.
27-28 years on, whilst we don’t want the game sanitized, there really were some bad challenges yesterday that warranted a straight-sending off no questions asked.

29th January 2018 at 3:19 pm #14074Jim, that tackle was x rated and has no place in the game and City players have been on the end of a few of late so I get where you’re coming from mate. The entertainers should be protected Hazard is the most fouled player in the PL and some of them are nasty. I was disgusted with what Warnock said about the Sane tackle. Hope Sane recovers quickly.

29th January 2018 at 5:13 pm #14077Nine it’s just been a relentless assault on our players the last two months, where at least 7 red cards should have been issued and not one red has been given. Not a peep out of any of them or that tool in charge Riley. No wonder none of them are going to the world cup! If there isn’t an agenda then frankly they are just plain shite and should be sacked.

29th January 2018 at 5:56 pm #14078How many times I have said there is a Gill inspired agenda. Why do the FA not look at that tackle – sorry assault because that is what it was?
If somebody did that in the street it would be GBH. Idiot Warnock thinks its OK. What does that make him?
Spitting 6 game ban. Assault from a lowlife? Actually NOTHING!Imagine if that had happened to Rashford or Saleh or Kane -what would the well named Murphy say then. I hope that tw.t has nast injury.

29th January 2018 at 6:54 pm #14082Top players being targeted has been around as long as football itself. Ronaldo was always chopped down and very rarely protected by the refs even though he had a tendency to go down easily. Sanchez was chopped down against Yeovil and could have easily broken his leg had Sanchez not had his feet off the ground. Defender somehow only got a yellow.
This feeling of an agenda against City just makes no sense at all to non-City fans. You’re literally having the best season of your lives and talking about agendas in the media, the FA, the PL, the referees. You guys should really start enjoying the season a bit more. The pundits can’t stop raving about you!

29th January 2018 at 6:56 pm #14083Gill clearly wasn’t on duty for the Yeovil game as they should have been down to 10 men after that foul on Sanchez!

29th January 2018 at 7:14 pm #14085AnonymousGill didn’t seem that upset after Leicester or Chelsea won the league. Maybe he now has special powers to fix the FA cup draw, which he didn’t have back then?

29th January 2018 at 7:42 pm #14088Well City the only one of the top PL sides to get a League One side in the next round and Utd the only one to (probably) face a PL side away from home. There is no agenda Adlab!

29th January 2018 at 8:05 pm #14091Personally, I don’t subscribe to any ‘hidden agenda’ talk.
The FA Cup draw is what it is – we’ve had, I think, 8 away ties in the last 9 draws; however, prior to that we had a good run of home draws – ‘swings and roundabouts’.
Regarding the bad ‘tackles’ our players have been subject to recently, and there have been about 5 that should have been ‘red’, a question, under current VAR rules, can a players yellow card be changed to a red following review and where there’s clear intent to foul (injure) as in Sane’s case yesterday? Or are bad tackles not under VAR jurisdiction?_____________________________
