Anyone know why Great Britain women’s team is made up of nearly all City players when Chelsea is the main powerhouse in the league? Just asking.

21st July 2021 at 10:22 am #181885Sean,”In Ireland From Monday, you have to be fully vaccinated to to dine indoors in restaurants and sit indoors in pubs”.
Sounds sensible Sean but since Monday in England the lockdown has been lifted and currently such restrictions don’t apply in England although they well might going forwards.
You can’t compare Ireland and England yesterday Ireland had 1,100 new Covid cases whilst yesterday in England we had 42,000 new Covid cases and if cases continue to rise in England the Government have already hinted they might need to amend some of the lifting of the lockdown rules.
England is trying to move on and return to normal but if the cases continue to increase the Government can’t and won’t allow them to threaten the NHS.

21st July 2021 at 10:27 am #181886“The Premier League are planning talks with its clubs and the Government regarding what the protocols will be for fans returning to matches this season.
Supporters are set to return to grounds for the 2021-22 campaign, with the Premier League aiming for stadiums to be at full capacity again.
Covid-19 restrictions in the UK were eased on Monday as the Government moved to Step 4 of their roadmap out of the pandemic.
The situation, however, is still unclear as to what protocols will be in place for fans ahead of the new Premier League season, which kicks off on August 13 when Brentford host Arsenal.
The prospect of face masks, staggered entry time for fans and supporters having have to had received both doses of the vaccine by late the end of September have been mooted as possible requirements.
βI can serve notice now that by the end of September when all over 18s will have had their chance to be double jabbed, weβre planning to make full vaccination the condition of entry to nightclubs and other venues where large crowds gather,β said Prime Minister Boris Johnson in a press conference on Monday. βProof of a negative test will no longer be enough.β
The Premier League are understood to be reviewing the latest Government guidance before deciding what the new protocols will be.
They will hold talks with the Government and their 20 clubs to decide what the new protocols will be for the new season.” Standard 20/07

21st July 2021 at 12:51 pm #181889Ah I know two totally different situations
I was just say we are using the policy of letting full vaccinated people get on with it. My point is let full vaccinated people live their lives
Most cases here are 18 -34 who are not vaccinated
England have just opened everything up to everyone which is a huge risk mate and no doubt there will be another lockdown
How many people fully vaccinated in uk now chums?

21st July 2021 at 1:17 pm #181911Sean, 34.9 m people in the UK are now fully vaccinated. It looks like double vaccinations will be the requirement for football fans to attend games.
Everyone wants Covid over and for life to return to normal Sean but it can’t be achieved by wishing and hoping. I get “if not now when” but as you have indicated that comes at great risk and may well need tweaking as we go forwards.
Like you I think England went too far too soon. But time will tell.

It was not what I would call busy in either shop but comfortable. we shall continue wearing maskandgloves until I sEE significant improvement. I thought well done people, sensible and responsible

22nd July 2021 at 12:04 pm #181924Dunno Buffy, never seen the wee Spaniard kick a ball, so no idea what we’re getting… sounds promising, but don’t they all?
Little bit sad, always liked Lamela, he was our player everybody hated, like Gnasher and the other idiot with teeth who currently plays for YooUtd.

22nd July 2021 at 1:01 pm #181928Ahhhh…. the bitter taste of jealousy, maybe one day your mob will have a player worth hating… maybe you’ll even get some players like Bug-eyes and Boomerang, and pay them half a billion pounds a week to pretend to be footballers…. π
Joking aside, I think I prefer players who have 70% of the talent but 100% of the commitment over players who have 100% of the talent and 20% of the commitment, even if they do wear stupid red shirts with action-man logos on the front.

22nd July 2021 at 4:25 pm #181931Thanks Sean, I thought about reversing the numbers from 87 but 78 does not sound much better!!!!
Nine, thank you also…looking forward to the visit except for one thing my two Grandchildren are sure to visit the City Shop afterwards, maybe wise to leave my wallet at home.
Looks like City will have no pre season games before Leicester match and I think he will play mostly Academy players providing they are cleared of the Lockdown they are under. Probably another slow start to the season, Spurs will be happy though Chuky we will never be ready for game 1
