27th July 2021 at 3:27 pm #182069Definitely Sean. The league is still a massive task but some kind of silverware this season is a must or he’ll be gone I think. The only thing I think would save him, besides a cup, would be a very strong title challenge.
Nine, yeah saw that and looks about right I think. Pogba and Lingard look the ones most likely to bring in some money in sales but that would leave Utd very light in midfield.
Kounde to Chelsea looking like it’s on now. Grealish to City gathering pace too. Lots of business left to be done.

27th July 2021 at 3:28 pm #182070In for kounde apparently nine
Top young centre back, not as tall as ideal but as outside centre back of a back 3 he would be fantastic

27th July 2021 at 3:34 pm #182071This summer window has been all about centre backs so far, as far as the big moves go. Ramos, Varane, Konate, Kounde, Romero, Ben White, Upamecano. I think lots of clubs have been inspired by how big a transformation Van Dijk and then Dias made for their club’s title challenges. The back is the new front!

27th July 2021 at 4:21 pm #182073I think unless Man Utd have a disaster, Ole is still pretty safe, even if he stays around the top 4, because there are still no obvious candidates to replace him & I suspect the board would want to avoid another rush of blood big name ‘Mourinho’ type appointment. In any case, it was the recruitment side of things where Man Utd have really damaged themselves over the last years but it now looks completely different and is clearly leaps and bounds above what it was. It’s taken nearly a decade after Fergie left to readjust, but they look like they’re finally there now.

27th July 2021 at 4:23 pm #182074“Chelsea are hopeful of striking a deal to sign Sevilla defender Jules Kounde after the Frenchman indicated a willingness to move to Stamford Bridge.”
Sounds promising Lucky still a long way to go as though I think Chelsea are trying to throw a player into the mix in part exchange.

27th July 2021 at 5:57 pm #182076Nine, Romano said spurs had agreement with sevilla but player refused due to no champs league. If that’s the case I am sure we will come to an arrangement one way or another if we really want him.

28th July 2021 at 8:02 am #182079“Tottenham will trial the use of the NHS Covid Pass for fans who want to attend friendlies against Arsenal next month.
Spectators must prove they are fully vaccinated against coronavirus or have had a negative test in the 48 hours before the match is played.
The trial comes after the government announced proof of full vaccination may be required to attend sports venues from the end of September.
Spurs will host both men’s and women’s games against Arsenal on 8 August.
Explainer: How can the NHS Covid Pass prove I’ve had both jabs?
Tottenham said in the statement that the trial “follows recent government announcements and the necessity for the club to begin preparations for the potential of full vaccination against Covid-19 being a condition of entry to large events from 1 October”.Supporters under the age of 18 are not part of the trial nor do they need to present a negative test.” BBC Football 28/07

28th July 2021 at 8:26 am #182081Utd sign supposedly Liverpool’s best U18 talent. Bizarre that this can be allowed to happen. He’s either very brave or very stupid. Either way, Liverpool’s loss is Utd’s gain. Never heard of him but sounds like a real talent. He can’t be a scouser, surely? Utd are assembling some real talent at U18 level.
Ethan Ennis confirms he’s left Liverpool for Manchester United

28th July 2021 at 9:19 am #182083Never heard of him Ed. We have done really good under age players. Few who have recently signed contracts.
Bizarre one in anyway. Must be very good if going to utd from liverpool

28th July 2021 at 9:38 am #182084Only going by the article Sean which suggests he was “arguably the best” (of that age group) but you just don’t do that move, ever. Even at academy level, it’s just unheard of. I know Liverpool’s academy is very highly rated too, so it’s a weird one. I can only assume he’s not from a Liverpool supporting family.

28th July 2021 at 12:27 pm #182085Strange decision by the lad imo Ed.
Putting aside what he might face if he does come through and become a first team regular at United I would have thought his path to the first team would have been easier at Liverpool given their more limited transfer budgets v United’s and an ageing team.
Time will tell I guess but from 16 to be playing regularly in any of the first teams of the top teams is a big ask no matter the talent at 16.

28th July 2021 at 12:46 pm #182086Nine, he’s been brought in for the academy. Zero chance of him getting any senior minutes for at least a couple of years. He was apparently chased by both Chelsea and Utd and posted something on his social media from when he was at Chelsea to talk to them.
In fairness, while Utd have a bigger budget than Liverpool, we’ve always given kids a chance regardless of who the manager is. I’m not saying that’s not the case with Liverpool (certainly in recent years, they’ve had some great success there) but I think Utd are probably unrivalled in the PL for giving chances to academy players through the years. I can only think that would have been a factor in his decision. Still bizarre though. Liverpool’s academy is right up there with the best in the country from what I understand.
The chances of him making it are slim anyway, regardless of how highly rated he allegedly is. It’s only been a story because of how rare such a move is in the game.

28th July 2021 at 1:30 pm #182087Ed, yeah I knew he was talking to Chelsea too he was better off at 16 staying close to home imo.
Chelsea despite the recent success of bringing through young players to the first team have too many high quality young players to make it into the first team.
Nobody can knock United’s history in bringing through young players but they do now perhaps understandably seem to be investing more in the finished article as they again understandably chase new success and they’re not alone in that.
It’s such a long precarious road starting at a very early age and very few no matter how good make it but there are exceptions as you well know Wayne Rooney for instance was playing PL football for Everton at age 16 and scoring against Arsenal in the PL and he turned out to be a decent player!π
Can only wish Ethan Ennis every success if he doesn’t ultimately come through at United hopefully he’s got a chance of a football career a bit lower down the scale.

28th July 2021 at 2:08 pm #182089“Chelsea fans attending games at Stamford Bridge or Kingsmeadow this season will have to prove they are fully vaccinated against Covid-19 or produce evidence of a negative Lateral Flow Test.
The Blues are the first Premier League side to announce such measures, although Tottenham are trialling a similar system for a pre-season friendly against Arsenal next week.
Chelsea will have the measures in place for games at Stamford Bridge and also Kingsmeadow, where the womenβs team play.
Supporters will need to provide proof of full Covid-19 vaccination (with both doses received at least 14 days prior to the match) or proof of a negative Lateral Flow Test carried out within 48 hours of the fixture kicking off. Lateral Flow Tests will have to be done by those aged 11 and over.” Standard 28/07

29th July 2021 at 1:04 pm #182090Liverpool fans, expect Harvey Elliot to have a breakthrough season this year. The lad is pure class. Played on loan for us last season and plays with the maturity of a 25 year old despite being only 17/18. Was often our best player and makes things happen. Yes its “only Blackburn” but not seen any other players so young take to that league so easily. I would have thought any injury to Salah or Mane, he will be one of the players to benefit.

29th July 2021 at 4:59 pm #182097Tugay, Elliot is a real prospect. He had a great season at Blackburn and the championship is a very tough league. Heβs being played in a midfield role in pre-season instead of wide right. Excellent attitude and Iβve real high hopes for him

30th July 2021 at 11:19 am #182099I myself am a Blackburn fan firstly though I support Chelsea in the EPL. I’m waiting for us to be back where we belong. Blackburn Rovers was also voted as the best name for any football team some time ago. Guess we have to be grateful for small mercies right now.
