Just the one Chuky, Iam the nominated airframe engineer, that adds to the cost, like Bernado at City I can also fill other roles, even a bit of flying but prefer 4 engine planes. I do not do Stewards work though…I have not got the legs or the smile for it!!!!! They do pay well though!!!!

23rd July 2021 at 3:48 pm #181979Ed…I am pleased you signed him as well…gives us approx 10 million for our transfer budget…you know we need it!!!! Sancho is a good player, remember watching him in the Academy side, ahead of his time, like Foden. The EPL will be a challenge for him with tighter defences to overcome but a good move by Utd better than some other recent ones.

23rd July 2021 at 4:17 pm #181981Ed, Sancho had everything for a right sided player. He will
Love playing at old tarford. Big open pitch. Great signingDo you think utd will miss Pogba if he goes? Let’s be honest, he’s there 5 years and he’s been a disappointing signing for 86m

That was the main reason we signed him Brian. We really felt for Pep not being able to afford a striker so this was our way of contributing 😄
Sean, re Pogba. It’s a tough one. He’s been ridiculously inconsistent and quite underwhelming at times. He did give us an extra dimension though, both when coming off the left and when playing a bit deeper. Those balls over the top from deep are as good as I’ve seen anyone play them since Scholes. He was far too easily dispossessed though.
Put it this way, he has underdelivered as a Utd player but that doesn’t mean we’re a better side without him. Far from it. It’s a bit like when everyone used to say Lukaku wasn’t good enough for Utd. He might not have been, ultimately. But, selling him left us desperately scrounging around for anyone who might once have played up front, ending up with bloody Ighalo.
So it’s a difficult question to answer. He hasn’t delivered consistently enough but I have my doubts about whether or not we can adequately replace the positive parts to Pogba’s game and contribution to the side, if that makes sense.

23rd July 2021 at 6:18 pm #181983Ye I get you Ed. He would frustrate you as a fan as he has so much talent.
He’s to much for himself. His celebration for France sums him up
Great goal, does three celebrations then is at fault for one of the Swiss goals.
He doesn’t deliver enough as you say. Disappointing

23rd July 2021 at 7:06 pm #181984Ed…I am pleased you recognise our financial difficulties. On top of that we have finance Spurs to keep Chuky sane for the forthcoming season. The Walker fee cost us but maybe that was to pay for HK wages then!!!! I see our owners selling to the Chinese in 2 yrs then buying Spurs and Arsenal!!!!!!!!! In tghe meantime we will continue with a supple line of our Academy players and pay inflated prices for players we do not really need.. Lifeis wonderful when everything goes to plan!!!!!!

23rd July 2021 at 9:10 pm #181985“Assuming we get a CB in and Pogba goes, we’re probably still 2 midfielders short of a challenge.”
Doesn’t this just sum up how long it can take to rectify a poor transfer legacy? Whilst Pogba may not have been a disaster at Man Utd, you’ll struggle to find anyone I suspect absolutely desperate for him to stay. But if you do let him go, you’re then missing a midfielder. So even though years later you’re trying to put right those years of poor transfer planning, those transfers are still holding the club back, even today. Because they were never really quite right in the first place, so you always knew you were going to have to replace them. So it’s kind of one step forward, one step back.

23rd July 2021 at 11:19 pm #181987Pogba’s problem at ManU always appeared to be mental for me. He rarely looks interested. His ego gets the better of him and he seems to think that he can just put in 60% effort and that his skills are so good that it’s good enough to beat his opponents. That’s the impression I get from him.

24th July 2021 at 11:48 am #181988Ole has his extension, to be fair can’t have manager going in to season with one year on contract, he has to have clear backing and so utd right to extend.
Chelsea and city have been robbed by the way, according to “reports” they have spent 350m between them on kane and haaland but neither player has shown up yet! What’s up with that 🤔

24th July 2021 at 3:17 pm #181993The problem is Brian against a background of a dearth of top quality strikers from a Chelsea perspective it seems Chelsea clearly want to sign Haaland for a position that needs filling the problem is that Dortmund don’t want to sell Haaland this Summer without maybe Chelsea hit a price of around circa £150m.
I don’t think the media are responsible for any fake news re Chelsea’s desire to sign Haaland the only questions that remain unanswered are at what price Dortmund will or will not sell to Chelsea and how high are Chelsea prepared to go.
The media will never get it all right re transfers particularly the really big ones but if there was really no interest from Chelsea in Haaland this story would have died a long while ago.
It’s not an easy task to pull off transfers like the Haaland one when the selling Club doesn’t really want to sell and when the transfer prices are so ridiculously high but whilst the ball remains in play there’s still remains a chance. Right?

24th July 2021 at 3:28 pm #181995Lucky, do you really believe that Chelsea’s interest in signing Haaland is fake news? Personally I don’t, whether we manage to sign him or not is another question of course.😊

24th July 2021 at 4:01 pm #181998It’s clear Chelsea are trying to sign Haaland but at their price, personally I don’t see this going anywhere and yes we need a proper striker but not Haaland, Lukaka or Lendowski for different reasons. I prefer going for someone like Ings, or a proven EPL striker at a much lesser price, Calvert also comes to mind.

24th July 2021 at 4:27 pm #181999No nine, our intent to sign him is evident but the stories surrounding it are all over the place. Same re kane all we know is he wants out and city most likely destination, but papers have you believe its a done deal at 160m and seemingly nothing to back any of it up.

24th July 2021 at 5:41 pm #182001Lucky, as you say Chelsea clearly want Haaland. But what’s offered and what’s acceptable will always be speculation by the media because only the buying Club will know what they’ve offered and only the selling Club will know what’s acceptable it’s never been any different mate.

24th July 2021 at 5:45 pm #182002Blaze, I suspect both Ings and Calvert are on the Chelsea hit list somewhere how high up is the question?

24th July 2021 at 6:07 pm #182003Nine,,,City have already announced they will not be paying that kind of money, but the media ignore that just to perpetuate the story, probably because they know as much as you or I and that must irritate them. Big clubs now are very careful what is announced on anything when Media outside the door. Once upon a time we had good journalism. Although some do put an effort, of a sort, yesterday I read about a TV journalist looseing her job in Germany because she was seen covering herself in mud to so it looked liked she was helping the flood relief and that was not fake news. Some good and bad everywhere I guess

24th July 2021 at 6:22 pm #182004Brian, As I said yesterday I don’t think even City would pay £160m for Kane what I would say though is there’s more than one way to pay for a player and there’s a lot of players City can trade to substantially reduce the Kane fee.
