Sean, it’s a great shame about no fans in the Stadiums but under current circumstances it’s the right thing to do the alternative is no football until fans are allowed back which would be worse and commercially even more challenging for the Club’s than what they are dealing with now.

14th September 2020 at 2:46 pm #166176Anonymousthe spurs performance yesterday did not come as a surprise. whilst I am happy with the 2 signings we have made, it isn’t enough. we are still relying on the likes of dier, davies, winks, sissoko, moura, lamela, alli, ndombele. these players just aren’t good enough yet they make up a huge proportion of our match day squad. the tactics might not be the most positive but it wasn’t the tactics that caused dele alli to fuck up every single touch he had. it wasn’t the tactics that caused ben davies to play them in 1 on 1. its not the tactics that cause harry winks to fuck up every single forward pass. the squad is in desperate need of replacing yet all daniel levy has done is sit on his arse counting his money or trying to figure out the best way to get money out of the fans. he claims signing players is difficult yet everton signed 3 players for the same price we signed ndombele and he cant run for more than 15 minutes.

14th September 2020 at 10:45 pm #166183AnonymousIt’s very hard to make case for Kepa now. he hasn’t learnt anything yet, he conceded that goal? I’m sure Mendy will be telling his friends that he will make his debut the day he signs for Chelsea. that is straight into the team.
Big shout to Reece James who has had the game of his life tonight. a goal and an assist are what you dream as a full-back. also, Zouma has been rock solid tonight. an indication that he will be the one playing next to Silva. although Rudiger will have his say on that. I don’t think Frank will give up on Rudiger like that.
I was kicking myself tonight when I saw, Kepa, Christensen and Jorginho start in the same game. and at one stage it looked my worst fears could become a reality. but thankfully Reece and Zouma were the heroes.
I’m concerned about Loftus-Cheek, he seems to have lost his game. he no longer makes his usual runs into the box, he no longer finds the spaces he used to find. and maybe the Havertez arrival may have impacted him. I hope not! if I was Frank I would have taken a difficult decision and loan Loftus Cheek to another PL team where he will play every week and regain his confidence, and instead, keep Barkley as a backup.
Werner is impressive, the guy has what other Chelsea forwards in the past didn’t which is speed. with Pulisic and Ziyech yet to return. he will have plenty of chances to score.

15th September 2020 at 7:25 am #166186Difficult for me to comment objectively because I didn’t see the game, but the players have only all been together for 4 days leading up to this game and 5 or 6 are still missing from the likely line up .
The most important thing was to get the 3 points which is 2 more points than last season at Brighton.
Good reports on Werner and his pace and a front three of Pulasic, Werner and Ziyech when they’re all fit are going to trouble most teams.
Kepa’s confidence was blow long before last night and we need to get Mendy over the line asap.
Liverpool up next and we’ll have to be a lot better and hopefully a few more key players will be available for that game.

15th September 2020 at 7:32 am #166187Werner is going to light the pl up. Such w clever player and so fast. Really brilliant signing and Iโve no doubt he will score on Sunday after being kinked with us
Loftus cheek has everything in his locker to be a really top player but he has to take his chances as you donโt perform in that Chelsea team and you will be out
Chelsea missing a good few players and I expect a horrible game in Sunday and I actually fear for Liverpool because of the way we are defending

15th September 2020 at 9:14 am #166191The 2 new guys in Verner and Havertz look good. Good first impressions and quite like Havertz. Obvioulsy there are other players to come and it’ll take time for the whole to get and maximize their full potential.
Not sure about Lampard’s comments on challenging Liverpool. I understand possibly that’s his aspiration. Is it too much too soon though? Understandably, different teams progress differently, and for Liverpool, it took effectively around 3 seasons to get to the level to achieve Elite Trophy success.
Brighton to be fair to them didn’t play too badly last night and were quite lively for the first 20-mins. It was a silly lapse that led to the Pen and the Keeper was lucky to stay on the pitch. Maybe on another night, it may have been a draw having not conceded a pen and letting in an uncharacteristic goal, but it’s the way the game panned out in the end and we ourselves need to be Ready for next Sunday.

15th September 2020 at 9:35 am #166195Nil, thatโs bRighton all over mate. Not a bad dude at all but they make far to many mistakes when pressed high. They were doing fine up into the pen. They have Chelsea a game
Iโm very concerned about Liverpool mate. Might be an over reaction but our defence is a concern. Werner, Pulisic on Sunday will have a field day if our high line is not spot on
Chelsea had a few goals disallowed againest us last year tks to var. they nearly got in so many times and really shouldnโt have most at the bridge in the league

15th September 2020 at 9:42 am #166196Nil, here’s what Frank actually said “We definitely want to close that gap to Liverpool – we have to have intentions to be up there even though it is a big ask to win [the title],” said Lampard, “We are behind, it’s step by step. Hopefully we can make big strides.”
If Frank didn’t have those aspiration there would be something wrong.
Glenn Hoddle predicted before the signings this Summer that Chelsea would be challenging for the title in a couple of seasons and I think that’s still probably the case yesterday Chelsea were missing 6/7 likely starters when we’re up and running with a full team I think we’ll begin to close the gap on Liverpool and City but I still think the title race will between Liverpool and City.
But we’re on the move!๐

15th September 2020 at 9:45 am #166197Sean, I don’t think you will have to worry about Pulasic he had a reaction to his injury in the week in training and wasn’t on the bench last night because of it and worryingly Werner got a knock last night too but he should be ok.

15th September 2020 at 9:48 am #166198Chelseaโs pace is rapid going forward nine mate
If our high mine is anyway out of place, we will be punished. Iโd take a draw now.

15th September 2020 at 10:53 am #166200I thought BHA played very well for most of the game last night and were arguably the better team. Chelsea looked like a team that hasn’t played a lot together which is probably what you’d expect. Werner (with a W Nil but the German W is pronounced as a V) looked good in parts and obviously lightening quick. Very nice goal from Reece James who looked very good all game. Most of BHA attacks, and they did have a number of them, came down Chelsea’s left side. The pen was nailed on but the mistake by the BHA defender leading to it shouldn’t of happened. Kepa really should of saved the goal and he really does not look like a Premier League keeper. The thing that impressed me most about Chelsea was their press. Dunn should of equalised and somehow missed from about 4 yards.
