Adlab as soon it gets out of our hands it’s over mate.
Fair to much negatives over yesterday. Utd defense was rock solid. I don’t care what teM utd has out, it’s such a tough tough ave to go to

25th February 2019 at 7:31 pm #34326Some of City’s and Liverpool’s fixtures in facing opposition are similar. I.e. Spurs at home. They could get results at both Anfield and the Ethiad.
Adlab’s right and that’s all we need to do, but it’s still a big ask from an LFC point of view and Man City obviously have been proven winners 3 times this decade.
Gladfully for us, Man United away is done and dusted where as Man City have to go there soon and United themselves have something genuine to aim for in securing 4th spot. I still think Spurs would want to finish as high as possible and still be on the coattails of Liverpool and Man City.
One notable point that hasn’t so far been mentioned is the Liverpool have kept 3 clean sheets since the draw at West Ham (including the Bayern Munich game) and we still have players to come back in Gomez and Oxlaid.
I hope in the meantime we can find our shooting boots and regain some sparkle as far as our attacking goes.

This all day long.
You’re right too BTW, this is down to the manager. It’s their job to play football but it’s his job to make sure that they are thinking about the football and not the table. I do like how Klopp instantly said that he wasn’t thinking about it too much (right after the match) and was thinking of Wednesday but he’s got to get it across to the players to forget the bigger picture and to stop playing within themselves. You can only win 3 points on any given day and you also must enjoy what you do. I don’t see the lads enjoying themselves anywhere near as much as they did before when the pressure wasnt on.
One of ferguson’s main strengths was his ability to take the pressure off his players and I heard that one way he’d do it before the huge matches was to just tell some arbitrary story. That his calmness and even humour would transmit to the players, taking the edge off the atmosphere. I guess it tells them that you are confident in their abilities and that you’ve been here and done that.
Maybe Klopp is absolutely brilliant in the dressing room, we’ll never know.. I mean, I guess it doesn’t help when you have Sturridge as back up for Firmino. Danny was a great servant whilst fit but his days are long gone and he’s no longer good enough as backup. That’s another story in itself though and something for the summer. It’s not like LFC have been sitting on their hands. They can only fix so many positions at once, so Im not complaining too much … but we did get rid of Ings (who i think is a very good player).
On the whole, it#s been a good season for us and it could all be over for us in the next few weeks but I guess we can hope that Gomez will be back soon and that the forwards will click again. If this happens before City pass us out, it’s on.

25th February 2019 at 8:32 pm #34331Liverpool have done brilliantly under Klopp to be in the position they are with just one defeat all season depth of squad though was always going to be a bit of an achilees heel for them especially if they got one of two injuries to key players and one of two suffered a bit of a loss of form.

25th February 2019 at 8:50 pm #34333I still believe it is too early to make firm prediction. City are looking a little “leggy” at the moment but the squad strength has got them through. The one thing City have is Augerro, who , for whatever reason appears to be enjoyng playing again more than I have seen previously, although he is always dangerous on “off days” as well The other maybe Sterling who I have often moaned about but he is matureing fast. I do not think there is much wrong with the Liverpool squad, probably like City, getting a bit “leggy” therefore predictable but still good enough to get something from the match.
It will be close that is for sure and even a couple of defeats would not guarantee any of them being out of the race. To be sure, “pool” need 10 wins out of 10 if not we will pick up on it. It has been a good contest so far_____________________________

25th February 2019 at 9:19 pm #34339Slightly ‘off topic’ in respect of recent posts on this thread but does anyone know why Aguero’s goal was disallowed after VAR referral showed he looked level?

25th February 2019 at 9:25 pm #34340Chucks could you imagine a dragons player defecting to the rabbits or vice versa back in the day? No bloody chance. Money is all that matters these days & IMO it’s ruined sports & taken the passion out of it.
I see some saying hopefully Liverpool will find their attacking boots again but it’s just not going to happen, we don’t play like that any more.
Brian c $ty will have it wrapped up with a few games to spare mate, just wait & see. It’s so predictable, club with more money wins it. Yeah you’ve still got to play the games but it’s a lot easier when you have much better players than everyone else isn’t it.
I haven’t watched a rugby league game in 4 years & im heading the same way with football, sports just aren’t what they used to be & enjoyment is gone for me. I’ll keep an eye ? on results in the sports news but won’t be getting too carried away with it.
I’ll keep you all updated from time to time on the surf ??♂️ Conditions though. Take care lads & lasses ?_____________________________

25th February 2019 at 9:54 pm #34341I remember at one point in the first half on the counter right hand side, a pass was picked up by Salah. His second touch was a tad heavy allowing Juan Mata to make a challenge although he himself did very well otherwise Salah was in.
We found our rhythm back against Bournemouth a weeks back and it was just a wonderful Saturday afternoon for us on the back of a break after drawing to West Ham.
United away was always going to be difficult and I don’t think they wanted to lose the game just as much as we didn’t and so that penalty box was packed.
Both sets of defences deserve the plaudits rightly and thus we ended with a 0-0 scoreline. I felt though United had the better of the chances and we ourselves hardly had any shots on target.
Realistically going forward, our toughest away game has gone. Everton will do what they always try and do but we should have enough to get past them and they haven’t great.
We just got to take it one game at a time and we are more than capable in putting in a run. A big plus in the way Allison and Van Dijk handled themselves yesterday – a definite telepathy between the two.

25th February 2019 at 9:56 pm #34342Oz, you’d definitely enjoy the Rugby mate if you were in our neck of the woods, re Leicester. There’s usually too a good air of optimism whenever the 6 nations is on.

26th February 2019 at 3:53 pm #34393Oz..sorry pal, I cannot share same optimism, the reason for this is we are likely to loose Fernandino, Laporte for a number of games, KDB is not up to speed yet and El magico is over used.. The glue to the City side is Fernandino. Stones, Gungdogan Danilo could do a job in that position but not at the level Fernandino does.Pep will resolve the matter and we may not loose matches but we will not win when we should. I would like to see Foden given a run and would also like Walker, Mahrez, Sane and Jesus to UP there game. You never know, we may see Mendy appear!!!

27th February 2019 at 1:32 pm #34440I think both City & Liverpool will continue to drop points that they won’t be expected to (particularly as City’s games stack up). So the race is still very open for me. I’m just frustrated that Liverpool couldn’t capitalise at times and psychologically pressure their main rival. But the loss of both Coutinho/Ox was largely overlooked at the start of the season, and that coupled with Keita taking time to settle has meant Liverpool are quite simply not the team they were up top. Should Liverpool’s front 3 be harshly criticised? I think they’ve become complacent because they have no competition and so know they are pretty much always guaranteed to start. But at the same time, that front 3 are not really designed to create, but to finish things off. Hence you quite often see Salah for example just running into people in the box and losing possession. I personally would keep trying to get Keita into the groove as although he’s not fully demonstrated his talent yet, he does at least drive and dribble from midfield and that is worth more than any creativity the other midfielders possess. Get that spark back, and Liverpool still have a very good chance this season. If not, then it’s most probably City’s title.

27th February 2019 at 1:49 pm #34442The United v Liverpool game was a bit of a damp squib.
It’s a shame United and Liverpool won’t meet again this season without there’s an unlikely CL match up on the back of this https://www.football365.com/news/solskjaer-told-man-utd-squad-why-liverpool-wont-win-title. It might be quite interesting.?
