Chelsea are a mess at the moment. It’s a disservice too to their supporters when they are now trying to play this Kepa saga down. How does a kid disobey instructions?
As mentioned yesterday, their hands are tied with transfer window bans, and nobody really in the pipeline for the time being to replace Sarri other that a short-term appointment.
I don’t think too, the club want to be forced with another settlement in paying out yet another Manager to relieve him of his duties.

25th February 2019 at 8:39 am #34286Chucks, football depending on who you support just feels all crappy at the moment. Don’t know why considering we’re top of the table, but all the talk and the ifs. There’s always a negative notion placed as a lead emphasis.

25th February 2019 at 8:40 am #34287After all the talk about Spurs being in the title race recently, if they were to lose at Chelsea I wonder if they’ll be looking over their shoulder at Arsenal and Utd. A loss at Chelsea with Arsenal, Chelsea and Utd winning their games has the gap down to 4/5 points.

25th February 2019 at 8:43 am #34288Goonies next too Eddy, lose both and the gap could be down to 1 this time next week depending on other results…
I’ve been looking over me shoulder all season mate… (which combined with watching Emoji-man, means I have a really sore neck! 🙂 )

25th February 2019 at 8:47 am #34290? I’ve just stuck a tenner on Pogba to join Burnley with his long-ball skills
Yeah real season defining matches coming up for Spurs over the next few weeks. Falling out of the top 4 would make Poch’s disregard for the cups seem even worse!

25th February 2019 at 8:56 am #34291Misunderstanding or not Kepa was wrong not to come off and that needs to be dealt with internally within the Club.
As for Sarri the rumours of him being sacked have come from the media and none of them know what’s being discussed behind closed doors.
Yesterday Sarri proved he’s not a one trick pony by changing his tactics to suit the opposition and if he’s prepared to select his team’s , tactics and substitutions to suit the opposition he faces he shouldn’t imo be judged until the end of the season now.
Chelsea still have a chance of competing for a top 4 place and for the EL and all of the focus should go on that now certainly the kind of gutsy performance we saw from Chelsea yesterday against arguably the best team in the country after being besten 6 nil just a couple of weeks ago on the back of questionable tactics , team selections and rank bad defending would if consistently maintained give them half a chance on both.

25th February 2019 at 9:38 am #34293Nil I haven’t watched a game for a few weeks now & haven’t really missed it. I get what you mean when you say football feels crappy at the moment, I feel the same way. For me its not sport any more, it’s who has the most money. There’s no loyalty, jack all passion from players, they don’t care who they play for it’s who has the money, I just don’t enjoy it like I used to.
I used to love rugby league in Oz but it’s gone the same way ( although not to the money levels of football) & players don’t care who they play for. In the eighties if you played for a team like Parramatta for example, you couldn’t pay enough money to play for arch rivals Canterbury or Manly. Nowadays whoever offers the most money is who they play for.
I don’t have to watch any games to know c$ty will win the EPL & with Liverpool not playing very well I’m just not enjoying it any more, esp at 1,2 or 3am. If we were attacking like last season It’d be worth getting up but I’m not enjoying it so I won’t be getting up.
Anyway each to their own, big surf hitting the east coast in Oz thanks to a cyclone up north so gotta get going. Take care lads & lasses._____________________________

25th February 2019 at 9:55 am #34294Rabbithos fan myself… even if I lived in Manly, saw them a few times too.
But totally agree, the money is getting stupid these days… loyalty went out the window yonks ago, unless some showed up in the glovebox of the Ferrari.

25th February 2019 at 10:45 am #34296Oz, hope you’re well mate. Thanks for the reply. Yeah, that’s good mate that you have other activities you can enjoy.
Weirdly to a very large extent, I did feel chilled (albeit the odd heart in mouth moment) yesterday’s game. The United cloth of players compared to 10 years ago have changed. There’s competitiveness but notably under Ole’s regime, these guys showed respect to Liverpool. There was no maliciousness. If I was a United fan, I’d also be encouraged in what I saw in relation to young blood in scott mctominay and Andreas Pereira – very energetic individuals.
I’m happy looking at the wider picture not to be defeated with the point taking us to the Top Of The Table. What I’m not happy with is the way we are applying ourselves when it comes to attack, all the excessive ifs, buts and maybe’s, and the pressure. Purely to me on the basis of previous recent history and the fact that we’ve never won the title once it was converted to The Premier League.
You’re right mate, it is an excessive money-making machine that can rear it’s ugly head at the worse of it’s times due to greed and the way some players out there conduct themselves. It’s an industry that’s ever growing in inviting more and more leeches otherwise affiliated with the Media, and they themselves make money out of it.
There are more and more You Tube channels rolling out Liverpool’s Title Chances, so it’s not just Sky.
Our itinerary to me doesn’t really help when there’s a 10 to a 2 week break in not playing football. Although the result wasn’t bad, we played as though we were in slow motion we lacked energy and inventory.
Milner playing right-back can’t be expected to defend and run a full length of the pitch to put crosses in. Trent should have played and perhaps Shaqiri or Naby Keita should have started to give us more creativity. I think Klopp lost his patience with Hendo and we may see altogether a new Captain come next season.
Well, another 11 games left plus the CL and where we are, it’s a matter right now in pressing the RESET BUTTON and prepare ourselves for Wednesday.
Cheers

25th February 2019 at 1:55 pm #34305AnonymousOz, I know what you mean and I have considered backing off on my immersion. I’m not as completely sure as you regards us not winning it but I am devoid of confidence, just 1 point up and not playing well. it all went to shit when Gomez got injured and you’re right, we don’t have the attacking flair that we did last season.
Over the years I’ve definitely had seasons where I didn’t really pay as much attention and others where I was full immersed. You have some other things going on in life that deserve your attention more. For you, I guess it’s probably sleep, given the KO times in Oz. If you’re not feeling it then take a back seat. If we are still in it come the last day, I’m sure you’ll get up for that but I tell you, you missed nothing yesterday. One of the worst matches I’ve seen in years.

25th February 2019 at 2:40 pm #34311Aussie, I very much hear you. It simply isn’t the game it was. I’ve switched off at several times over the last few seasons because I grow tired of the team turning up one game but not in another. I wouldn’t care a damn if we lost every game so long as we gave absolutely everything in it. And Klopp yesterday said he couldn’t fault the attitude of the players but that we just didn’t do enough flexible things in attack. It doesn’t really make sense that. And isn’t he the coach that is supposed to instruct the players on how to play it? Sometimes I wonder if they listen to these post match interviews themselves.

25th February 2019 at 5:40 pm #34320I thought we battled well but had nothing going forward.
If we can still be top come this time next then it be huge but can’t see us getting 6 points. Everton will turn up next Sunday.
Attacking wise we have been poor recently
Thought utd looked more dangerous then us even though we had more of the ball.
It to disappointed all. Still top but we badly need to improve in creating chances and Salah needs to get it together. No idea why anyone lets him near set plays

25th February 2019 at 5:50 pm #34321To some extent, I can understand Liverpool fans seemingly conceding the title to City and admitting defeat, despite still leading the table. But there is no excuse for the players seeming to have done the same. It’s as though they’ve already lost the belief that they’ll win it. That has to come down to the manager I’m afraid. As Mikus suggested, he (along with Poch) just seems to lack that killer instinct, ruthlessness, arrogance, call it what you will but few would have Liverpool down to win the league now and that’s quite astonishing considering where they are at the moment.

25th February 2019 at 6:21 pm #34324Liverpool are still top. It is in your hands. Match City results and you win. I would take that right now if it was reversed!
