2 huge games of football and the only moment of entertainment comes from a substitution ?

24th February 2019 at 7:48 pm #34262The keeper should be sacked, a gross insult to club and manager

24th February 2019 at 8:06 pm #34263Was it not also pretty weak from Azpilicueta, the captain? When asked after the game for his thoughts on it, he said he was on the other side of the pitch when it happened? Should the captain not be trying to keep harmony in such situations and help the manager?? Deary me.

24th February 2019 at 8:54 pm #34266AnonymousBut Adlab, Sarri did misunderstand. He thought he was the manager.

24th February 2019 at 9:16 pm #34269Sarri’s played it down to obviously avoid more green chillies added and overcooking what’s already up in flames.
Communication breakdown and fracture in relationships was vivid and telling between players, the manager and coaching staff.
Lot’s of different streams of thoughts up in the air and factoring in too, Chelsea’s transfer ban. Even the idea of a new proposition in a Manager will have to live without 2 Transfer Windows. Whether this paves way for a ‘Caretaker’ – my thinking instantly in the direction of Zola with and possibly Lamps.
For me, Kepa should never feature in a Chelsea shirt – feel for the other Chelsea keeper too. Lot’s said about other Chelsea players don’t ‘dragging’ or ushering Kepa away, but quite clearly, it showed, they didn’t want to be involved.
Irrespective of the severity of Kepa’s physical condition, when you are instructed to come off, you come off. I’d be livid if I was a Chelsea supporter knowing Kepa had some sort of influence in weakening your chances when there was a perfectly fresh replacement available to step in.

24th February 2019 at 9:20 pm #34271Adlab, it’ll probably be by mutual consent mate once his ‘exit’ pay packet has been agreed. I thought for those 120 minutes, he did well. Penalties are a lottery, but considering everything, Sarri did not need that tonight, and from one of his own players too.

24th February 2019 at 9:23 pm #34272It’s lead to believe too according to the rules that the ‘transaction’ can’t be complete of a substitution if the player insist on staying on the pitch.
Surely this can’t be a policy???

24th February 2019 at 10:00 pm #34273It’s a shame that the Kepa incident has overshadowed a very gutsy Chelsea performance.
This whole situation will need to be sorted out by the Club, Sarri and Kepa.
I don’t think anyone can predict the outcomes.
I feel for Sarri because today suggested he can adapt his tactics despite everything that has happened previously whether that will be enough to save him with or without the Kepa incident is open to conjecture.
For me Kepa was in the wrong misunderstanding or not . JT would have frog marched him off the pitch.

25th February 2019 at 5:11 am #34274AnonymousKepa wouldn’t play another minute for the club were I chairman. I don’t imagine Chelsea will do a damn thing about it because he was so expensive but you can’t have this. He’s got to go.
Were it financially viable, I’d sack him.

25th February 2019 at 5:13 am #34275AnonymousAlso ya, if the Captain has said he was on the other side of the pitch for something like this… he can’t continue as captain either. What a mess.

25th February 2019 at 5:27 am #34276AnonymousAdlab : “Mak. Would you not have taken a point before the game?”
I might have but it was a kinda spineless performance. As the pressure builds, our performances keep dropping, so it’s more about sustainability. Ya, it’s good to be a point ahead of City but how long will that last? Another gameweek? 2? 3?
Mane and Salah just didn’t perform. Firmino might be out injured and we just don’t have the cover for him. We look like a team that’s out of ideas.

25th February 2019 at 7:30 am #34280All the critique (and rightly so) is centred around our level of threat. I think deep down at the start, Klopp and us guys would have been happy to take a draw given that United haven’t lost a single league game since being beaten to us back in December.
Although 5-6 weeks in, a lot of football of course has been played.
I think we were a little overwhelmingly to cautious or just devoid of inventory combined with United’s resilience at the back – take Luke Shaw for instance.
Notably too, there wasn’t a great deal of difference when Sturridge came on and neither Shaq too could add anything different to our attack.
The set-pieces were awful. It’s as if at the moment as far as creativity and threat goes, we have nothing left in the tank. 11 games along with Champions League is still a fair bit too go, though on paper, our fixtures bar maybe one-to-two teams look favourable.
Don’t forget too, Man City have to go to Old Trafford. I am not fully convinced they themselves are back at their own high levels and perhaps some recent results have been a bit on the flattering side – but I could be wrong.
Had a play at the Predictor League with both teams drawing another 3 games…..

25th February 2019 at 7:40 am #34281Everybody is stuttering a bit, maybe it’s “Cup Month” and whatnot, but still a long way to go. About the only thing I can guarantee is nobody is going to win all their last 11 games (or 12 in Chelsea’s case!).
Us Spuds just need to get the DESK back together, and getting them on form. I also think we’ve missed Dier more than we think. Disco and Dinksy have done a stellar job in the DM positions, but neither of them have quite the “get stuck in” attitude Dier has. Hope he’s back sooner than later. And Vicky too for that matter. That’s the crucial area of the pitch for us.

25th February 2019 at 7:41 am #34282AnonymousUnfortunately the club as far as employing staff is very very badly run, a manager who has no idea what it is to win any competition and only wants his beloved players from Napoli even though they all already over 30 so clearly there’s no long term plan for the team while the world’s most expensive keeper is also the worlds most overated keeper. The younger brilliant players we need to keep we doing our best to get rid off, a real mess right now and Roman don’t care cause his been victimised by the weakest government in British history.

25th February 2019 at 7:53 am #34283Thing is Moo, it’s going to be all brushed under the carpet, you know Kepa will start Wednesday now, Sarri has already started sweeping… and a probable 3 points against my boys and it will all be forgotten…

25th February 2019 at 8:13 am #34284Can City go on and win all four? It seems unlikely but they’ve got one in the bag now.
How did a team supposedly lacking in character dig a gutsy performance out like that against City only two weeks after being humbled 6 nil?
That felt like two points dropped by Liverpool yesterday considering all of United’s woes leading up to and during that game and Liverpool are stuttering currently.
Liverpool now have a one point lead over City so mathematically the title is in their hands now but have they got enough in them to get over the line from here ?
Is it just a two horse race now? It looks like it because Liverpool and City are unlikely to both drop enough points to let Spurs back into the title race.
