That’s why I said 1 neutral, my furry friend! 🙂
The only time I really watch Moneybags or Liberoools is when they’re playing the Spuds…

7th November 2019 at 9:21 am #52007Sean. allegedly it’s a muscular injury and according to Pep it will have to be monitored between now and Sunday. Sounds like he’s not definitely out more like 50/50 but if he plays I doubt he will be 100% fit.
Titles often turn on injuries and who has the least City’s injury list this season has been awful.

7th November 2019 at 9:33 am #52012442….he will start with KDB, he is also due an inspired game, we shall see. Bernardo will be needed and I would have Stones/Garcia as the CBs Augerro will start as will Ederson but the loss of laporte and Rodri maybe too much for us against Liverpool
Apart from injuries the main aspect of City this season is they are not playing with the same authority for 90 minutes, something that happens to all top teams eventually as they adjust to different players but I still think we are yet to reach our game over the last few seasons. The effort is there but quality of reading game has dipped a little. It is recoverable though. Teams know City will not go anywhere to defend or put 11 in the box, neither will Liverpool for that matter so an entertains game is the prospect, let us just hope ALL fans behave themselves before, during and after the match._____________________________

7th November 2019 at 10:04 am #52013Brian good post but last years game at anfield was very disappointing as both teams were to conservative in that one game.
Both teams full backs hardly crossed the half line. City should have won as mahrez missed that pen.
The game at the ethiad was a brilliant game though

7th November 2019 at 1:16 pm #52024Brian, your usual quality post my friend.
Once City get over their injuries and providing they can keep everyone fit I think there’s every chance of them having a very strong second half of the season whether that will be enough this season to win the PL is open to conjecture.
I think it will all depend on how close City can remain to Liverpool going into January and how Liverpool cope with their December fixture list.
Whatever happens with the PL City are currently favourites for the CL and it’s difficult to argue against that particularly as they should have a fully fit squad by February when the CL returns.

7th November 2019 at 1:17 pm #52020AnonymousBrian… 999… Regardless of the injuries or form, I just think that Liverpool will come off the boil at some stage. Even if it is a series of three draws, that will be enough for a team like city given the appalling levels of high quality players throughout their team! ?
Shuffling my Liverpool defender out of my fantasy line up given that loads of games are going flipping mental and be like high scoring nut jobs. Long may it continue.
Its always after Europe pep shuffles the decks and I miss out in fantasy football… Fiver on a no score draw. 🙂

7th November 2019 at 1:31 pm #52028442, tbh I don’t think either Liverpool or City would be too upset with 0-0 and everyone was predicting high scoring games between them last season and it ended 0-0 at Anfield and 2-1 at the Etihad so you might well be right especially with so much resting on the outcome.
As I said above whatever happens on Sunday and obviously a win for Liverpool strengthens their title challenge I think much depends on how close City can remain to Liverpool going into the New Year and how Liverpool cope with their December fixtures.
A fully fit City squad and limited injuries in the second half of the season if City were to remain in touching distance come the New Year would make things very interesting.
Personally I think Pep will select his best available team for this game and I would be surprised if Klopp doesn’t go for his usual safety first midfield which will imo include Henderson. But we’ll see. Cheers 9’s

7th November 2019 at 2:13 pm #52031Anonymous9’s… best result for all concerned in the top 4 is a draw. those two draw and Leicester and CFC win… We’d be le level on points with the sky blue machine and six off Klopps metal church… Leicester for a title run? It would be flipping awesome, they still got some players who lifted the trophy last time so the old cliche of having title run in experience is rearing its ugly head again. Be gone you football cliche…. be gone….

7th November 2019 at 2:46 pm #52044Quality header from Mario Pasalic against Man City last night and overall he had a good game and he’s the star player at Atlanta.
Another loanee who perhaps could/should return to Chelsea next season?

7th November 2019 at 8:00 pm #52058442/nine I think Klopp will want to swamp midfield and keep the Silvas too busy to supply Augerro and Sterling, which to me leaves the focus on KDB and this will be key plan for City. You cannot pick KDB up easily. Liverpool have there threats, we know that, I am not sure our current defensive system is good enough to hold them so we do need goals. Hopefully…no penalties, no sending offs and no VAR!!!!!!

8th November 2019 at 2:50 am #52067AnonymousBrian, I feel the same as yourself. Its the thought of containing your attack, not breaching your defence , that worries me most.

8th November 2019 at 5:05 am #52069Klopp has admitted that Pep is the best manager in the world and I would say probably of all time though of course like players it is a bit difficult to compare different eras.

8th November 2019 at 6:38 am #52070I know the best manager debate is never-ending, bit like the Scholes/Gerrard/Lampard debate, but I do think saying Pepe is the best of all time is stretching it a bit. For me, there are two types of managers, the ones who can take a very good side and tinker with them so they stay at the top (like Pepe!) or those who can drag a club up by it’s boot straps and on wards to glory (like Clough for example!).
To be the best of all time, I think you need to have proven to have done both… question is, can anybody think of a manager who’s done both??
