Not had a great deal of time keeping up with football, so this is the first I’ve heard of this.
A body blow for us.

10th October 2017 at 9:43 pm #5944Sickener NB. We’re going to need luck in this one I feel and that’s a bad start!

10th October 2017 at 10:17 pm #5945We do look a more balanced Bofa since Salah have joined us and Coutinho is playing on the left for us.
As we have Man U this Saturday, we would have bolstered our attacking options and Mane could have played as a striker for us.

11th October 2017 at 6:33 am #5946We are low on confidence, playing a team thatβs strength is our weakness & they are full of confidence & unbeaten With our main attacking weapon out injured. Add to that our defenders think a clean sheet is something you get from the dry cleaners & I think itβs pretty safe to say we wonβt be winning this game.

11th October 2017 at 10:01 am #5952We genuinely played better than many credit us for re the Leicester game as we passed the ball better, had greater possession and were in control of the game.
The scoreline didn’t reflect that and anyone that didn’t watch the game fully would go by that and think of us as some kind of a mediocre outfit. Salah was top draw.
I’d assert the point of some similarity re versus Newcastle as they are a rebuilding outfit from the Championship, but have a good defensive coach in Rafa that basically nullified us. Maybe some might argue 1-1 was a fair result, but I don’t agree with that vehemently because we’re not being outplayed by these type of teams, but instead, being exposed and hurt from our defensive weaknesses.
We’re not as low I feel as some people are making us out to be, whether it be our fans, other fans, or the media.

11th October 2017 at 10:07 am #5955Nil, cyber chum, got to be careful with that ‘theory’ as you could apply the same to most teams, Spuds lost to Chelsea when we were in control of the vast majority of that game, it was a worldie free-kick and a Hugo brain-fart that sperated the teams… we battered Burnley like a chip supper to let them equalize with the last kick of the game… and there we have Spuds sitting third on goal difference! π

11th October 2017 at 11:44 am #5962Chucky,
I totally get that as a top team can hurt us outright with their level of quality as we found against Man City, and although I don’t want to take the fact that it was a wonderful performance from them, there is still that point of us being reduced to 10 men and goals largely (if not all) scored in and around the 6 yard area.
This is why we need somebody commanding like a Van Dijk, but anyway, this discussion has fallen off the wagon in what essentially is about the Mane injury.

11th October 2017 at 1:05 pm #5967Very true… no main man Mane is certainly going to hurt your chances, which is a shame for us neutrals as your lot are the best team YooUtd have faces this season, I think we all wanted to see if they are as good as certain peeps believe!
Although with no Emoji-man and no Ron Jeremy’s BIG Brother, YooUtd have already got their excuses in! π

11th October 2017 at 2:03 pm #5972A game or two for Β£35m Ox which is presumably why Klopp bought him. All teams suffer injuries that’s why they have 25 man squads.

11th October 2017 at 9:03 pm #5985Not sure of the post on what is about Sadio Mane. We’ll do our best with what we’ve got and us supporters are always together.

12th October 2017 at 12:27 am #5988nb, who comes into replace Sadio Mane during his injury has to be 100% relevant on a Sadio Mane is injured thread.
Ox looks a good bet otherwise why would Klopp have spent Β£35m on him?
Much more important though is who will place N’golo Kante and Alvaro Morata? ?
