Associated party finance rules

So an unnamed club, I wonder who that might be, is threatening the Premier League over their associated party finance rules as they want companies linked to their owners to be able to over pay on sponsorship etc.

We want to be part of your league, but not adhere to your rules, and we want a court to rule that would be ok.

It is pretty ridiculous; we are completely innocent, and our finances cannot be any cleaner and we can obviously comply with the rules but could you just not have the rules because if my brother cannot fund my club it might be hard to match that sponsorship, which honestly was not backdated, changed after the fact or inflated. Honest guv, scouts honour.

Why would a club care about a rule change that won’t affect them?

Considering how innocent they claim to be about their current sponsorship deals.
