Rumor today that Arteta would be looked at to take over when the inevitable happens and Emery gets the chop. Surely Arsenal fans would be happy with that? To be honest I can’t see it happening as I think Arteta is being groomed into taking over from Pep.
Ten Hag or Nagelsmann would be good shouts. Young managers with modern ideas that I think would play football the way Arsenal fans would like.
Poch won’t be short of offers with managerless Bayern apparently keen on him.

25th November 2019 at 8:21 am #54173im not sure why we should be happy with Arteta?
for me id be very nervous….who has he managed?
what experience does he have?
and the big one for me …DOES HE KNOW HOW TO MAKE A TEAM DEFEND?!?!?yes he is Peps understudy…how many of those has he had thats gone on to great things? Same with SAF and even AW, playing for or worjking with a great coach doeant make you great
he could be everything we want and need but just as easily be a waste, id prefer a manager with real experience at this point and Allegri would be my personal choice, get back to basics and learn how to keep out goals! we plenty of attacking talent so focus on that and the rest should follow!

25th November 2019 at 8:36 am #54174As far as I am aware Arteta isn’t simply just Peps understudy, he is being modelled to take over from Pep when he leaves. It’s not just about being a coach under a great manager, it’s about inheriting the same ethos and methods so that the transition is smooth. Same I believe will happen with Klopp and Ljinders.
So whilst I think Arteta would stay at City knowing Pep doesn’t do the longhaul, if there was a chance of Arsenal getting him I think they would be getting more than just simply someone with coaching experience.

25th November 2019 at 8:54 am #54175taking over a team youve know and trained for years and instilled and ethos with a previous manager is different to taking your first coiaching job at a big club in a toxic atmosphere with none of the ethos instilled and a weak ass backbone!
he could be a god and change us, but there is nothing to show or say he would, he could tank badly with us…..its the unknown, id prefer a known!

29th November 2019 at 8:09 am #54724You would think it’s only a matter of time now Stevo.
I just can’t see a top Manager like Allegri wanting to go to Arsenal and work under the Kroenke regime with the fans and the owner so far apart of each other.
Tbh I think Arsenal’s problems go a lot deeper than Emery.

29th November 2019 at 8:15 am #54726course they do but that being said its not like they dont invest or spend cash, they made good changes behind the scene…this manager hasnt worked out, they need to moveswiftly and get the RIGHT man in, and to be fair we have a decent nucleus and money to spend to improve so i dont see why Allegri wouldnt but even if not we need someone new now…end of

29th November 2019 at 8:25 am #54728He’s certainly a dead man walking for sure.
As mentioned above, I wonder if a “Top Draw” manager would want to take over, or it would be better to get a “Middle Draw” manager in to build a whole new team. Decisions, decisions…

29th November 2019 at 8:30 am #54731Who knows Stevo I just think there’s more likelyhood of an Eddie Howe/ Arteta type of appointment for the reasons I gave than an Allegri type one but we’ll see.

29th November 2019 at 8:35 am #54734whoever it is needs the right mentality, know the art of defending and have a real plan and identity as to the way he wants the team to play and the ability to get them to do so! its os bad at the minute its stopped being a joke

29th November 2019 at 8:49 am #54736Arteta would be a good shout, he knows the club from his playing days, and has served a bit of an apprenticeship under a not-to-shabby manager. The only drawback would simply be it would be his first crack in a “hot-seat” so still a bit of a gamble.
(And it hasn’t stopped being a joke, I’m still laughing! 🙂 )

29th November 2019 at 10:40 am #54745Good news for you Gooners Stevo, but I suspect they have a replacement already lined up and they wouldn’t announce that at the same time.
Poch would be a humdinger!?
Freddie in the Chair as interim Coach and Arsenal announce the search is underway.
Fair do’s to Arsenal it’s the first Manager they’ve sacked since Bruce Rioch in 1996.

all know my number one choice, i will wait to see who we DO actually get before saying much else, at the moment only half the job is done and the next appointment will be HUGE….good or bad! lets hope they get it right and support whoever they bring in

Not many top coach about at the moment. Know steveo mentioned Allegri but I’m not convinced his highly structured style would work at Arsenal.
