Not sure who I agree with. So much wrong with arsenal. The problem is no manager is going to get time. No matter who arsenal get in they are screwed for a while as the board are not trusted by the fans and it’s a very unhappy club at the minute
I really wound have went all out to get Rodgers before he signed his contract

that ship has sailed thanks to our inept board, i do agree we need a real MAN manager, one that can shake things up, shout when needed and put an arm round when needed, BIG ask for ANYONE to change such a weak mentality and culture though, but AW did it and if anything had a harder job convincing the likes of Adams and Merson to stop drinking and start eating well and training more etc….it could happen again but whoever it is they will need to have something special about them as a person and get all the squad agreeing and fighting etc

As I said, first priority for Arsenal is to bring someone in who can simply put a smile back on the players faces and get them enjoying things again. What you don’t want is another Emery – undoubtedly a clever manager but seemingly a poor man manager. The mood needs lifting dramatically. So even if Arteta is very clever, he still doesn’t strike me as the right man – you need someone with real charisma so that the players will be pulled in immediately to him and play for him – and want to play for him! So I worry that Arsenal are trying to be too clever about this and are trying to find a potential gem when they need more of an immediate impact to galvanise that dressing room.

1) you know it happened Chucky. The pictures of Jose with 3 PL trophies will give you a bit of hope and justify you’re about turn providing Jose can do it before he implodes.?
2) Very ambitious owner with the right Manager and support in the transfer market there could be two teams in Liverpool once again.
3) Maybe maybe not. Firstly Arteta will have to be succesful at Arsenal which is probably going to be a long term task.Massive amount of water to flow under both bridges before that might happen.

no youre right Brian, we had no plan at all then a ridiculous list of managers and stupid “interview” process and no real plan or appetite, we just missed out on 2 of the most decorated managers in Maureen and Ancelloti, Allegri is out of work as is Poch and we are being linked with all kind of dross and strange names, soundfs more like a hopeful scatter gun approach, i would still sit down with Allegri and ask what he wants and say OK you got it, welcome aboard

Stevo, the problems with Allegri is that he seemingly doesn’t want to join anyone mid season, he doesn’t speak English and he’s likely to have some really big job offers to consider in the Summer p!us Arsenal want to make an immediate appointment. Presumably that’s why Arsenal have turned to Arteta.

Putting aside Allegri’s lack of English and his desire to wait until the Summer I can’t help thinking that Arsenal for whatever reason decided to look elsewhere rather than appoint Allegri or perhaps they asked him and he declined.
Why Arsenal didn’t go for Ancelotti is a bit if a mystery he would have surely have chosen Arsenal over Everton but if looks like both dyes are cast now.

Mav,It’s not done until both sides have agreed and Arteta has signed on the dotted line. I’m not sure there’s a lot of difference between Vieira and Arteta other than having a couple of years managing in the MSL and 18 months at Nice.
We don’t know about Allegri but Ancelotti was gettable and I think he would have come to Arsenal why Arsenal didn’t move for him only they know.
