28th October 2024 at 12:05 pm #216139Nooooooooo! Too soon. Wanted at least until Christmas.
Who is in the mix then? Only one man for me, step forward Gareth Southgate.

28th October 2024 at 12:05 pm #216140Took way to long from a United perspective but Iβm gutted I was enjoying his tenure
Who next will it be Amorim or Southgate π

28th October 2024 at 12:15 pm #216141Dreadful decision. Ten Hag always bounces back. Why didnβt they give him another opportunity to do that?

28th October 2024 at 12:16 pm #216142I feel Amorim has City vibes should Pep go at the end of the season. At least with Gareth he is available now and as we know good mates with Ineos.
Not a lot of talent available. Should have given Rangnick more time and the signings he wanted.

28th October 2024 at 12:30 pm #216143Wasnβt it rumoured that Liverpool pulled out of Amorim was that he wanted more control of transfers? Presumably Utd are setting up a transfer structure themselves? Nagelsmann probably the best out of a bad bunch, but just not sure if heβs got the personality and charisma for a big club (yes I know he was at Bayern, but he wasnβt there for long & it was pretty much a one team league when he was there). Think they missed the boat with Tuchel.

28th October 2024 at 12:55 pm #216145Was a matter of time. Absolutely nobody who is considered reliable has spoken up the prospect of Southgate π. Never ever going to happen, lads. Sounding like Frank, Nagelsmann and Amorim are the names being considered. Ornstein and Laurie Whitwell both been very quick to deny any Southgate rumours any time they come up. Seems to be lazy pundits putting together the fact Brailsford knows him and Ashworth worked with him at England.

28th October 2024 at 1:02 pm #216146For what it’s worth, I think Ruud will take us until the end of the season, barring a horrific start as interim. I think that gives us more options as our top targets probably wouldn’t move mid season anyway.

28th October 2024 at 3:37 pm #216147Nagelsmann put himself into a compromising situation with a reporter which cost him his job at Bayern. Plus he did some silly things like sack the GK coach who was a very close friend of Neuer. A number of senior players turned on him, but he’s certainly a big enough personality for Utd.
Southgate still joint 2nd favorite if you ignore Ruud who would only be interim I’d presume. Oddly Xavi is right up ther too.

28th October 2024 at 4:29 pm #216149Keeping Ruud, probably sensible. As least he’s worked with the players and knows them.
Managers have come in and good ones too but I think top to toe United’s downfall is their decision-making.
Whoever does come in needs to take a step back and absorb the ‘stock’he has before buying and selling.
Southgate would probably bring in spirit and togetherness, plus get the players playing and believing in themselves.

28th October 2024 at 4:51 pm #216151Whoever decides to come in will have the same problems as the previous 6 managers. 2 years time, we will be talking about lack of charisma and how the club does not have a identity.
If these twats start performing now, it just proves they are only playing for themselves.
These cunts have accomplished nothing in the game, yet they believe they are entitled.Shambles of a club.

28th October 2024 at 5:21 pm #216152Southgate to Utd would be us doing the full Liverpool journey mirroring the disastrous Hodgson appointment π

28th October 2024 at 6:47 pm #216154Is he the one who rejected Liverpool so they could appoint their ever charismatic 4th choice Arne Slot.

28th October 2024 at 6:55 pm #216155Bonkers that they’ve just spent Β£180 million on players over summer to work under Ten Hag.

28th October 2024 at 7:12 pm #2161562-3 years time. He has no charisma and no identity. He isn’t getting the best out a 30 year old Rashford, after Rashford performed well for 4 months and was awarded a new 600k a week contract.

I think theyβve done exactly the opposite of that Mikus, hence Ten Hagβs reluctance to play Ugarte. The whole point of this summer was about moving from buying players for the manager to buying players for the club. Interestingly, Ugarte played very well for Amorim, for instance, at Sporting.

28th October 2024 at 8:33 pm #216158Amorim was rejected by Liverpool because he didn’t fit into the new model where power is taken away from the manager whose job it is now to focus on the training pitch. Amorim wanted more influnence like what Klopp had, and what Edwards opposed.
Ten Hag had power to make his own transfers and that didnt work too well! Don’t think I can ever remember a manager who made so many transfer cock-ups.
Slot was 2nd choice behind Alonso who will likely move to Madrid next season.

28th October 2024 at 8:36 pm #216159A great little nugget just came up on my “feed”, Wazza and Rio having a chat on somebodys podcast, and Rio asked Wazza when you realized YooUtd had completely lost it… Wazza replied it was during his last season there, Maureen was manager and YooUtd had just lost, at home, and were sitting 6th in the League, yet in the dressing room, Pogba, Lingard, Martiel, Depay and a very young Rashford were “dancing” while planning for the night out… even Wazza saw it then (and he’s hardly a saint!)

28th October 2024 at 8:49 pm #216160One big positive change Iβm seeing since Ineos came in is how under the radar these big moves are. Omar Berrada the new CEO, out of nowhere. Leny Yoro, supposedly on his way to Madrid, agrees to come to us out of nowhere. Now, out of nowhere Amorim is in talks. This is why I never for a minute believed the Southgate odds. The media were getting absolutely nothing from the club until itβs too late.
