Giroud came to Chelsea at a similar age to Aguero and has done a very good job.
Chelsea are crying out for player who can make the most of their often excellent build up play who can stick the ball in the back of the net, Haaland could seemingly do that but if we can’t get him and the money being talked about for him is ludicrous then Aguero is someone who is already a proven goal scorer in the PL and could do that and players like Tammy would imo learn from him.
No point in getting too engrossed in Aguero to Chelsea, firstly Aguero has to decide that he wants to stay in the PL if that’s his decision and the Club want to sign him then I think Chelsea have got a better chance than most in signing him.
But first Aguero has to decide that he prefers to stay in the PL as has been suggested rather than go to Barca and play with Messi for instance wherever he goes Aguero will score goals and at 32 is far from too old.
All we know for certain is Aguero is leaving City at the end of the season the rest is just pure speculation currently.

3rd April 2021 at 3:37 pm #177036Lucky. if the money is right , it will be Barca but I doubt it will be a EPL team as well. The Spanish/Portugal’Italy leagues would be good for him for at least two years I would have though. He would still have a chance to play in CL. Althoughthere is a current media clamour for City to sign a striker like Haarland, we have done OK without one, we have nobody in the top end of striker totals so far but as a team we have more players scoring from different positions. I think Pep will sign somebody but may surprise who that will be. I think it is also a little too early for young Delap who could be the answer further down the line but needs to go out on loan to toughen up and gain sharpness for the EPL Foden was an exception in his transformation but was carefully managed by Pep.

3rd April 2021 at 4:04 pm #177037Brian I saw that aguero is on 191 prem goals, if his motivation is to stay in prem and over take shearer as greatest ever goal scorer, and he is physically up to it over next 2 to 3 years, then I would snap him up.
City letting him go means at least one of the two, they don’t believe he is worth the money any more, and/or they have a replacement lined up for him. I think both apply but if its just the first one and city would let aguero go even without being sure of replacing him then that should set alarm bells rininging for any potential suitors at the top level for aguero that he is no longer worth the money he is asking for

3rd April 2021 at 4:38 pm #177041Brian, the truth is mate none of us know, the rumours suggest Aguero wants to stay in the PL where those rumours have come from who knows but given City weren’t prepared to offer him a new contract I can see him being upset by that and perhaps wanting to prove City wrong.
We won’t find out until the end of the season imo.
Personally I would be tempted to go and play for Barca in a beautiful City and play with my mate Messi.😊

3rd April 2021 at 7:36 pm #177048Lucky…I think it is more a case of Pep looking at his squad for next season and the style and method he wants to play. Right/wrong he may feel Augerro is not up to it and he would rather have mobility, hard on Augerro of course if that was the case but there is no sentiment in football when you have to keep evolving as a team. I feel somewhat devasted he is going just wishing for another season but that is my heart speaking. Reality is different. To be honest I think Pep would rather have another KDB/Gungdogan than a striker. It is possible to guess what Pep will do but the likelihood of getting it right would be a guess too many

3rd April 2021 at 7:42 pm #177049Lucky….I do not think Augerro is that type of person, he has never made an issue on anything in his 10 yrs at City, however, it is sensible that, with a free transfer he can afford not to go cheap either.City knew they could get another year out of him but I think they have squad plans for next season in place, it is not that he is not good enough for City….he is….but in a limited role which he probably did not want

3rd April 2021 at 7:59 pm #177052Brian, not calling him greedy mate, if city believed he was worth what he would expect to be paid then I don’t see why he wouldn’t have had a new contract with city thats all.
