Great loss of Confidence at the Moment:
Fixtures:
Everton – Home could be a draw
Fulham – Away – Marco Silva, not really a good recent record so could end up in a defeat
West Ham – Home, you never know
Leicester – Away, you’d think a Win
Tottenham – Home: Draw and points dropped
e:
Chelsea – Away: potential defeatArsenal – Home: Could be FATAL

20th March 2025 at 8:38 am #218897Really don’t understand what you’re expecting other posters to say here, cyber chum, it’s not like we’re going to start cheering for Pool, is it?
You had a bad week, didums, look at us YooUtd/Spuds fans, we’ve had a bad season and would gladly swap places with you in a heartbeat…

20th March 2025 at 10:37 am #218898One thing ill say is winning the league alone is absolutely dream world. Bad week were people have questioned us which is fair enough but absolutely no one predicted this team to win the league.
Most including myself y we would hugely fall behind. Some even questioned if we would get top 4. Its would take the biggest bottle job to lose it from w. We need to y. If we win this, it be up there as our greatest achievements in 35 years. The city fans will absolutely erupt but we just need to get it over the line.

20th March 2025 at 10:49 am #218899Also ed, thought a bit more about your points about it been a poor season. If you are not a Liverpool supporter it has been.
The 3 promoted sides have been an absolute disgrace. Ipswich spent 100m. Leicester sack a seasoned coach and bring in rvn who has been so disappointing. Southampton nothing to say there
The pl has a whole has tactically and technically moved on from 20 years ago but the calibre of player has seriously regressed. Liverpool will win it as the best team. Rodri has seriously damaged city but its bigger then that for them. Aresnal were 9 points behind before their injuries. Their negative tactics has been their downfall
Utd, chelsea and spurs have been an absolute embarrassment. Like really pathetic. Money spent and just so poor.
Next season vvd, salah, kdb could be gone
20 years ago we had gerrard, giggs, scholes, keane, rio, terry, drigba, lampard, bergkamp, henry, campbell and so many more. Now whose left?
You could name 20 world class players in the pl 20 years ago no problem.now you would struggle to name ten

20th March 2025 at 12:04 pm #218901You know what, the more I think about it, I think there is a genuine lack of genuine top class players…
Like you say, Waspy, go back 10/15 years all the Top 4 had 3/4/5 really top draw players, the same for a lot of teams across Europe… you can’t say that these days… would any of Barca’s current squad get a sniff in the team 10 years ago? Juve? Milan? Munich? Arse? YooUtd?
Pool, yes, Alison, DVD, Salah, Robertson all in with a very great shout of an all-time Pool Prime 11… can’t name a single player from any other club than maybe 115 (KDB for example, not including this season! Our Sonny maybe but, again, not this seasons!). Anybody from the Goon show? Would have to be one of the CB’s, but would they oust Adams or Keown? Knock out Veira or Petit (still the best CM pairing the Prem has ever seen!), not bloody likely…

20th March 2025 at 12:53 pm #218903Nope to either… good players, and can be great players on their day, but plenty out there who are better…

20th March 2025 at 2:08 pm #218904If we don’t genuinely do something serious in the summer, then we will regress. The boys will be burnt out and will need to recuperate properly. Please, we have ageing players anyway that need replacing.
The so-called mid-table teams will continue to be competitive if they retain their squads and equally strengthen. Don’t know about the likes of Chelsea and Spurs and how they will fare next season. City too.

20th March 2025 at 2:10 pm #218905Any yes, it’s a psychological problem for us or a newish one for us as we’ve not suffered back-to-back defeats for a while and usually we bounce back.
If teams can smell you’re doubt and lack of confidence, they will not hold back. Look at Crystal Palace at Anfield last year.

21st March 2025 at 8:00 am #218907Have to say Liverpool fans are the absolute best at shitting themselves. We could lose all the games. Arsenal could too. We could win them all. What is the point of thinking about it? Just enjoy the ride, we are in a fantastic position with no real challengers.
The top teams are worse than the last generation but the lesser sides are much better. We have Wolves who are just above the relegation have players like Cunha, Ait Nouri etc. The likes of Bournemouth and Brighton have multiple top level internationals.
Are the bottom 3 the worst ever or has the gap between those coming up and those established widened? I think the latter.

21st March 2025 at 8:38 am #218908With the exception of Pool, and to a very lesser extent the Goonies, there really isn’t a lot seperating the next 12-15 teams in the league, but the bottom 4 or 5, especially the bottom 3, and miles behind.
Any one of those “mid-table” teams, with a couple of steller signings and decent luck with injuries, can easily make the jump into the CL spots next season, and anybody in the current Top 10 is in with a decent shout of making this years CL spots too…
Going to be an interesting transfer window this summer, seeing who will try and poach who from whom, which players who take that gameble, as lot of those transfer might be considered a side-ways move rather than up-wards… and then certain clubs flirting with FFP issues…

21st March 2025 at 8:46 am #218909Good Morning,
This has shown how quickly things can change and what you’re left with as a result; in just days.
Granted, there’s fans posting on different platforms about this that and the other in a nuance of gloating/boasting. “Don’t do it! Simples!” Timing of the fixtures placed not great, but it’s done and we just have to move forward.
And yeah, it’s the impact of the defeats that can affect players mentally and a test for them naturally to see how they overcome the setbacks.
Hopefully get through this week and the Internationals will keep people occupied with something new to talk about and distract for the time-being from all the domestic stuff.

21st March 2025 at 9:42 am #218911You can sign players whenever you like, you just can’t register them outside of a transfer window. Chelsea will probably sell better academy trained players to facilitate PSR.

21st March 2025 at 10:47 am #218912Sean, overlooked your post y’day and I do agree with your points about World Class. A few individual players out there have dipped in form. There’s not a lot of strikers compared to what was on the football circuit 25 years ago.
I think we’ve witnessed a number of cycles with different clubs to the point of the dynamic looking like what it was like in the 1980s as far as English Top Flight goes. The so-called top teams are average; they’re not great.
I’m enjoying it personally from a different lens of the spectrum; we have Forest in the quarters and in Champions League places. Villa doing well too in the CL which is good to see.
